Before anybody says "don't do it" I'm gonna because that's who I am and I like to try stuff out on my own. :Q

What I want to do is setup up a RAID 0 array on my machine but I want to copy my existing drive onto the new array. I'm running XP pro on the single drive and I want everything, including the OS, onto the array. The single drive will not be part of the array.

Can I do this without having to reinstall XP? That's what I really want to get around if I can.

TIA.

I think you can probably use a program like drive image or migrate easy (used that recently and worked flawlessly) to simply transfer all of the files from your original drive to the arry. But that's assuming the original drive will not be part of the array.

Or you could ghost it and copy the image to another pc or CDs and restore the image to the new array. I think it should work, but have never done that before. You should probably install the Raid controller before you ghost it though.

Definitely install the controller before you ghost the original back to the array. Windows will certainly not boot to an array on a controller it doesn't recognize. Even installing the drivers beforehand, it seems quite possible for this to bomb out. Have fun, especially after you realize that the array gains you nothing. :)
