Went on vacation on my own to Miami and LA. Had a lot of fun both times cause I met a lot of people there. I'd recommed LA since you can rent a car and to go San Fransico or OC.
 
Go to Moab, UT.
There, you can go rock climbing with a group or white water rafting with a group. You can also go on a mountain bike tour (with a group as well). If you really want to be alone, rent a 4wd Jeep and take a ride along the White Rim Trail. This trail has some of the most beautiful vistas I have ever seen.
