And that is the one thing that is keeping me going. At my true core I am love. As hard as this is i know what is deep inside me. Most would be completely broken by what I've gone through and I'm close. But I will rise above and figure a way out of this.

I'm glad to hear.

We all deal with depression in different ways, and we never know how we'll handle it until it actually happens. My girlfriend at the time passed away about 1.5 years ago. The weeks that followed were absolutely horrible. I handled my depression by crying and sleeping a lot. I also have a good circle for friends that were there for me, and although I did prefer to be by myself a lot of times, it was comforting to know that they were around. Time healed the wounds that were inflicted though.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

That's what kicks me so much. I've been grieving for over a year now and it has cost me everything.

Its just that I've dated so much and finally found my true love. And now she's gone and so is my mother (i'm her only child...we were VERY close.

Thank god for martin logan.

Hell no. She took great pleasure in leaving me. Great pleasure. Last words were a few months ago me asking for the $grand 'cause she cashed the escrow check. 'Least she sent me the check, although she probably only did it so I could see his name on the check and her new name signed on it.

I really feel sorry for her to some extent. She's gonna wake up 3 years from now with a kid or two and see she has a baseless marriage. But her baggage is another person's problem now and I must resolve mine.

Then it will get better!

That's rough spidey07, no doubt, that somebody could just up and leave like that an I am assuming blame some of their unmet goals squarely on you. :(

Yes. I know what I did and the mistakes I made. But I am wise and will learn from this. Like you young grasshopper, I am wise beyond my years and that is why I know I have a long, hard journey ahead of me.

Your friend,
john

Man, spidey07, that's a boatload to handle. Take care of yourself, and let fate deal with the ex. Fate is very, very cruel on people like that eventually. She'll get what's coming, and you won't have played any part in that.

Take advantage of all the counseling and treatment you can. That's what it's for - you've put into the system, now let it help you.

I'd be much more worried about you if you did not react this way. You wouldn't be much of a person if this didn't floor you, would you?

We need a "chin-up" icon!

Go see a doctor. You may be suffering from depression. There are medications available that can improve your quality of life.

It's depression. Get help, whether it be a shoulder of a friend, support group, psychologist, or psychiatrist.

Depression is really, really, REALLY hard to get out of on your own. It can be done -- do things to get your mind off your troubles, such as working out, finding a new hobby, etc., but digging yourself out of your hole solo requires the willpower of a saint.

I would recommend that you stay the hell away from alcohol. Try to avoid getting on drugs (beneficial or otherwise) as much as you can. If you are suicidal, get help immediately. Talk to your friends and family as much as they can stand. If you have no one else to talk to, PM me.

....and then you realize that depression is only a state of mind in such a violent manner that you get over it like "that."

Seriously, I was F'd up in HS, but after a while, and a lot of interesting events (see: LIFE) I gained knowledge and expertise that taught me how insignificant I can be if I want and how SIGNIFICANT i can be as well.

Case in point:

I tutor math (0- CalcII) 6hrs a week. I now get no credit for it, and even when I did, I really didn't take it.

Why do I do it?

1. It get s me out of the house.

2. I sometimes get to do my HW there when it is not busy(usually busy)

3. Most importatnt reasons:

-I am making a SH!tload of friends
-I cannot express how gratifying it is to change a students demeaner from "how the FUk! can I ever get math to" "oh, damn, I did it"

- It CONTINUOUSLY provides meaning to my life, and helps get get through even the most difficult of situations. If I feel like Sh!t and don't want to school, I tell myself that those people are depending on me.

The fact of the matter is that your struggle, as it is with many, deals on your perhaps "definined purpose.

As I always say, the meaning of life is just that, meaning. You strive to definie it, and you dtrive to have it define yourself.

The tutoring maybe insignifficant to others, but to me it is everything and a bag of weed. THat's all that matters, because it provides me with all the motivation i need to get good grades and hopeflly get my engineering degree.

Significance is the key to everything.

Hey Spidey

Man you sound better all ready. Im glad to hear that you have made appointments etc.

That is the most important step in to getting out of the depression. Also make sure that from here on out you make yourself the number one priority. You sound like a much stronger person than you might think. There are many people out here who could not have handled all the problems you have had over the last couple of years or months. Keep you head up and stay at it each day. One thing that has helped me greatly is meditating. You might want to get a book on it or take a yoga class. You will be totally stunned how much it can help you.

One last thing you should consider is a change in diet. My doctor informed me that because I had such a poor diet it could affect my mental health. With all of the above efforts plus consuling I was able to resolve my depression without MEDS!

So I know you can get over this bud.

Keep you head held HIGH.

CHEERS,
Darkstar:)

For spidy07, I know what its like to be depressed, you should go to a doctor and get some sort of help. I know it can be tough to do but you have to make the first step because nobody will come and help you, you have to ask for help. You might want to consider getting therapy, personally I found that didn't do much, but its different for everyone. Sorry to hear that you are feeling unhappy, things will get better I promise, just take the advice of people there that offer their help, and ignore the asshats such as xSauronx. If you need a friend to talk to just send me a pm.
