Well, let's not get carried away now. Good flick, yes. On the "most inspiring sci-fi film's EVER" list, I think not.

And as far as getting released on an HD disc, YMMV. I think the condition of the original tapes has quite a bit to do with how good it'll look in HD.

From what I've seen, old movies vary a lot in how good they look. I've seen a couple of movies from the 60's in HD that looked better than stuff from the 90's in HD.
