I want to move to Hawaii

So talk to me about Hawaii. How is it. How is the weather, how the job market is, how bad is the cost of living. Basic stuff I should know. If it helps, I expect to be working in the technology sector, but I'm flexible.

i've been living in hawaii from since i dunno when and i really like it here. The weather is perfect here and the people are nice. Job market ain't doing too good though, just like the rest of the america i guess. Since hawaii's economy is based on tourism, since the 9/11 thing the state econ has been a little down. Have you ever been here before? if not then come visit for a week or so and see if you like it here, and mean while you can find all the answers you need.

really? i thought it was still sorta ok cuz people would go there instead of overseas now🙂

cost of living is high and the job market could be better--and the jobs that are here pay less than identical jobs in the mainland. But the weather is the best i've been in anywhere in the world. It's obviously warm in the winter, but the summer is great as we always have the tradewinds and its rare for it to get hotter than 90.

If your a single guy you'll be very happy...hottest women on earth here.

Most people I've met that move here from the mainland either love it or hate it....a lot probably has to do with cultural adjustments i think. Hawaii is the most ethnically diverse state in the U.S.

i'd write a whole lot more but i'm already procrastinating as it is....where's the other hawaii peeps to help this guy?phatcow?jfur?


Edit: just saw you're from cali...if you're serious about moving here, you could come visit first and check it out...trips from there are usually cheap as you can get round trip air for $250 to $300 if you're lucky.

I'm currently in electrical engineering but I might not pursue a graduate degree in EE.

man, all this talk about hot girls and I want to go there now. 🙁 😀

actually...we have a korean friend from NYC that came to visit a couple years back and it really appealed to him...he's thinking of coming over too..likes the laid back style here.

oh...as far as grad schools...there's also Hawaii Pacific University. If you already have a technical undergrad degree, you might be interested in some of their master's IS programs...

oh yeah, almost forgot...the girls are SCREAMING hot here!!😀

I am applying to go on an Exchange program to University of Washington next year. I might also try to go to U of Arizona or U of Hawaii. They all got excellent Asian Studies programs. 🙂

I should ask Skoorbie about applying for Work Visa. 🙂
