I've now played enough games that I can say without a doubt that this game owns. I'm still not one bit sick of it, and this is only beta. The game is just so damn tight. I really didn't care for it when I first heard about it. I thought "blah", but since I got picked for beta and played the game ROX0RS. For those who don't have beta get yourself a copy of one of the illegitimate copies. You have to. It rox that much.

I play on B.net as skoorb. Only a few ladder games under my belt but i'm 5-1 for individual. I'm gonna raise that tonight 🙂 I post on b.net forums as bluenoser. Skoorb wasn't working...

There are more unofficial beta testers than official beta testers right now. I don't know that blizzard really cares a whole lot. More beta testing for them.

But they generally don't have an open beta test.
 
OK, here is the uniting comment:

Starcraft and Warfract 3 are both excellent games, but for all purposes they are very different

The genius of Starcraft was to design a game so intracately balanced that one could play for days and not come upon the "perfect" method. Sure, some were better, but it was like a well-played game of chess: you could always counter-maneuver

Warcraft, seems to me, to be much less concerned with epic armies, efficiency of base, building positioning (although these things matter) but the stategy/battle concept on a much smaller level. This is where the brilliance of the hero, the creeps, and npcs come in

So you can't really look at one and compare them directly because each game must be approached from a different angle.
 
i know how u feel skoorb, i cant get enough of wc3. finally after like 3 years does blizzard come out with wc3. wc2 was really fun, but gets a lil boring after the countless battles. i love the new changes and cant wait till retail comes out
 
Just played two 1v1 games. First I was rushed by orcs. I'm convinced I had nothing I could have done. I think I was the better player but my humans were ruined.

Next game human vs. human. I had the upper hand the whole game due to extra expansions. The other guy was a good player though and it jumped my rank up from 915 on the ladder to 769.
