I was thinking of running one of those stands you see where people photograph you and make you a shirt, or a calender, or a mug, etc, right there. Sometimes they just put a photograph of you on paper with a goofy poem and frame it - and sell it for what seems to be an insane markup.

When I google for this, I as you might expect, don't find much but spam.

Anyone have firsthand experience with what I'd need to set something up? I've got a laptop and a nice bubble jet printer. I'd need a better digicam and whatever software they use.

Advice, software, hardware, etc? C'mon point me the right way :)

Sell it.

If he promises to not buy another one, I'll buy his.

I think I've got six running around the house - you won't get rid of me. I'm quite good at building them from scrap parts too :)

I'd be homeless and still have a laptop.

unless you can find tourist traps and get license to do business, you'll waste more money on electricity

Here's a couple ways I made money with my puter...
Built a website to sell poultry supplies
Bought into an online auction
Learned to build computers and sell them
Learned to fix computers and sell them
with camera...
Take pics of kid's ball teams, print and sell the pics. (Individuals and groups)
Most recently, my in-laws had a Toga party at their bar. They did a setup that looked Roman with grapes and wine bottles and a big chair, backdrop, etc. I took pics, showed them to folks, printed them and sold 4x6's for 5 bucks.
I made about 100 bucks for the evening, it was loads of fun, and the people loved it.

Why not bring a laptop with a widescreen LCD like the Dell i6000?

Sure I'd love to see some of the pics, thanks :)
