Masters of Orion 2 and Masters of Magic
Civilization
Baldur's Gate
Heroes of Might and Magic

Tried to think of some that weren't mentioned. I'm not a fan of newer games I guess.

For different reasons. Although once Beatmania comes out, I might have to get another ps2 (I've bought and sold 3 so far) and pick that up.

final fantasy tactics great game, great story, hard as hell for the most part.

1. Final Fantasy Tactics
2. Counter-Strike
3. Everquest

Everquest is more of a greatest game of all time "in retrospect". After having played World of Warcraft, Everquest doesn't seem so great anymore... but nothing could compare with the feeling of entering that world and playing that game for the first time. Plus it really ushered in the era of MMORPGs for the most part.

Wow.

I'm curious, other than Counterstrike, what are your favorites? Most of my favorite games were made in the mid-90s and before.

Not listed in any order because I just can't do it, and they're all completely different games to boot.

Castlevania SotN (psx) - One of the best platformers ever.
Chrono Trigger (snes) - Great all around RPG. Story, graphics and sound were amazing for it's time.
Total Annihilation (pc) - One of the few games that never leaves my hard drive. I only wish more people played it. WAY ahead of it's time. Can't wait for Supreme Commander.

Honorable Mention (Anything I played the living fvck out of in my youth, and still occasionally load up today):

Zelda - Link to the Past (snes)
Megaman 3 (nes)
Contra (nes)
Super Mario World (snes)
Starcraft (pc)
Diablo 2 (pc)
Final Fantasy 6 (snes)
Final Fantasy 7 (psx)
Megaman X - X3 (snes)
Donkey Kong Country (snes)
Final Fantasy 4 (snes)
Final Fantasy 1 (nes)
Half-Life + Expansions (pc)
SimCity 2000 (pc)
Raiden (psx, arcade port)
Lifeforce (nes)
Star Control II/Ur-Quan Masters (pc)
Sam & Max (pc)
Full Throttle (pc)
OgreBattle (snes)
Star Ocean 2 (psx)
Secret of Mana (snes)

God god... my poor childhood. :(
