Visiting Canada
"If you plan to visit Canada, you must have a valid travel document, such as a passport."

:Q

Are there other "travel documents" that aren't going to take 6 weeks and cost 100$? lol

Hopefully they're just as long and cost even more, anything to keep you out of my country.
Wtf did I do to you? :(

Edit: And no, I don't look like my avatar anymore. Short hair and a goatee.

You threw some nasty remarks my way in the past, so I'm sending them back. I think we're pretty much tied now though.

Why would you think there'd just be a sign saying "Entering Canada" and that's it? It's another country. You'll also have to read the small print on your speedometer too because *gasp* those darn Canucks use the metric system!

Edit: Took out flame. Post is made out of jest.
There's no need for you guys to be mean... I've just never been there before... :(

I figured it wasn't just an open road with a sign that said Entering Canada like it is here from state to state. But hey, you guys are supposed to be friendly, you never know! :p

I find it hard to believe that they would let me into Canada with something that they wouldn't let me back into the US with, that sounds ridiculous and like a nightmare for everyone involved.

Oh, and I have a digital dashboard. So Na. :p

:(

I just bolded it to make sure you didn't go trotting off to the great white north without having a means to get back. :)

I guess it doesn't really make sense that the US wouldn't let you back in with things Canada does let you in with, but they're separate countries with separate requirements for entrance. They're just laws made by lazy, overpaid douche bags in Washington and Ottawa, so you just gotta bend over and deal with it. :\

You do not need a Passport to re-enter the US by Auto, yet. If you fly, then yes you need one.

I don't know why there's all the drama, but I found it pretty weird that the two lifer/mods that are fighting joined on the same day almost nine years ago.

Lots of people rejoined that day, since they redid/made the forums that day.

So it's not that coincidental or exciting :p

Eli, hope you have fun :)

If you decide to travel a bit farther north-east, you could experience what i consider to be some of the most beautiful places in the world (in the Rockies) :)

I would actually be considerably east of Vancouver, in Princeton.

Hit the Okanagon while you're there. Nice area, orchard and wine country.

Ah yes Princton. Almost in the Okanagan Valley. If you are going that way try your best to go a little further and visit the Okanagan itself. The drive along the lake from Penticton to Kelowna up to Vernon can be highly recomended. Stop along the way to sample the local wines and fruit orchards. If you have time stay in a lake side B&B, do some hiking and or horseback riding, it's that sort of country up there.

Oh and be sure to post what you thought of the trip after!

Welcome to Canada my friend! I see your in Oregon, visiting Vancouver and or BC (my home :)? Can't highly recommend it enough if you ask me. There's a reason we're called the California of the north. Beautiful weather, beautiful natural scenery, beautiful women, good food, good wine, lots of activities, wonderful city! If your going to the rest of Canada, well hmm not much I can say really... I'm sure someone living in Toronto can give you something or another to recommend. If you going out that way though don't forget to pack the zombie replant!
I always recommend Canadian beer. ;)

If in Ontario, I recommend a trip to Harvey's for a great burger.

In Quebec I would recommend a nice Montreal smoked meat sandwich lunch.

And poutine!

Sugar pie and tourtire, with some ragu pour moi. I love going to Quebec, so much good food :D

Last time i was there i just had a drivers license. Things might have changed in the past two years though. You get stopped at the border and they ask you a few questions. They'll search your car and run some checks if you look suspicious.

If traveling by land you may need to prove your citizenship. This can be done with a passport or birth certificate. The deadline for needing a passport to travel to canada has been delayed to summer 2009. In my experience though they usually just ask for ID if anything at all.

Perhaps my knowledge is out-of-date, but myself and three others visited, by car, Canada in September of 2007 and nothing besides a driver's license was required to get into Canada or back into the US.

you mean these? they sell them here.
we have that brand here too.

what about dill pickle chips?
I've tried those and didn't care for them much. Lay's brand ketchup chips are my favorite but they don't sell them down here in the US. Red finger coating goodness mmmmm.

Oh lawd, dill pickle chips are so awesome. Those and salt+vinegar chips should be a part of a healthy balanced breakfast (or lunch, or dinner).
