I want to get into a Unix admin position

But I think it's too late to get into it. My only experience is with a Unix Shell Programming course that I took and I graduated with a Operations and Information Management degree. What would be entry level areas for this kind of stuff?

Thanks

What are you doing now for work? I would find a company that actually uses Unix and needs employees that can actually get around the system and can learn whats needed on the fly. Do you feel you're comfortable doing this? I'd think one of the ways to go about this is fine an employer that needs Unix support and get an entry level job there.

You will have to be open to doing other things outside of being a Unix admin as well. Employers a looking for the all-purpose sometimes so while you may be hired as a Unix admin, you may be in charge of other systems (Windows, Novell) etc., backup, hardware/software support. Just remember these things may come with the job.

I just graduated... I interned at a corporation as a light programmer for two summers. No job experience. Just intern experience. I just don't know what to do.

I see Unix positions open but they want experienced people. I am open to do other things, I just don't have the experience they want.

You might have luck getting a helpdesk position and working your way into the unix side of things from there.
