I want to edit some video files together

I have got a powerpoint presentation due for one of my classess. Its going to be over the History of Video Games. I need to have one video file on it and I have a good idea for one. I have four video game trailers downloaded and want I want to do is edit them out and grab a good clip or two from each video and then clump it into one video file. Is there any program that is easy to run and free or has a trial on it that I could use?

Anyone, I know there has to be a software out there that will work. But I dont know anywhere and what the name of one is. So anyone please respond.

Thats perfect thanks for the help. Can anyone reccomend a good video editing software now. You see I just want to grab about 30 seconds of my favorite part of trailer from each one. And then I'll use the MediaJoin to combine them. So whats a good editing software?
