Paint will short circuit a motherboard, don't do it. And masking won't help entirely keep paint from going where it should not go. IF you do decide to go on with it dont bother wasting time to RMA it.

Just go to http://www.webhelp.org/jonnyguru/ and look for Computer Mishaps and the Guy who tried to paint his CPU.

Dont turn you computer in to Joan Rivers or Wacko Jacko. Why not leave well enough alone. Enjoy the natural beauty of you PCB, PCI, and all the other circuits. We are all born beautiful, now do go and F it up. You PC will thank you later. :)

You could always take your motherboard out and stomp on it. Prolly work just as well as painting it. Sorry couldn't hold back.

Nobody on jonnyguru.com tried to paint their CPU. The CPU's you see there that are all covered with goo are CPU's with excess thermal compound.

"Dirty slots are bad. When you see them you just want to run away. You can yell at them "You are nothing but a filthy slot!", but it doesn't do any good. You can try to clean them up, but they will just go back to their dirty ways. Your mother wouldn't be very proud of you either if she always sees you with dirty slots."

While you are at it, you might as well paint your own rendition of the last supper on the back of the motherboard.

EURIKA I'VE GOT IT! DONT USE PAINT AS WE ALL KNOW IT WILL BE TROUBLE. INSTEAD GO TO AN ART STORE AND BUY A GOOD QUALITY MARKER (NOT A SHARPIE) AND COLOR IT LIKE YOU DID WHEN YOU WERE FIVE.
