I want to buy this car. Update: Not going to go for it.

I've seen this car in town before. It's been on eBay even before this. Beautiful.

I want it. Of course, I don't have 5 or 6k or whatever it will go for.

Anybody willing to give me a loan? 🙂 lol

The rusted out passenger floor pan makes me a little nervous.. It's hard to believe that the rest of the car is rust free, but whatever. When you get a car from the 70s.. you expect some problems I guess.

So.. about that loan.... 😉

Update:

Talked to someone that went to look at and drive the car. This is what they had to say about it.

I went to see and drive this car over the weekend near Portland, OR. It looks good on the surface & runs great, but I decided not to make an offer due to rust & bondo in the usual places and significant rust under the passenger side. I was too afraid of what was hidden underneath the body and inside the frame. If your can weld and do body work, this may be okay. It's a shame to see so much mechanical work done without proper rust repair.

🙁

Oh well.

i think slightly larger and a brighter silver would go well. also, whats up with the lights facing the driver? that looks goofy as hell

It's not USA-stock. I don't really know much about it, but I think they did it like that in another country.. maybe in Japan, dunno.

I think it looks good tho, gives the car an oldschool exotic look or something.

How would I go about getting a loan on such an old car?

I'm serious though. I'd really like to buy this car. My Tercel sucks. Does get good gas milage though, heh.

I plan on buying a 240Z and bringing it to these guys for an engine swap 😛

Nah.

Better off with a small block chevy conversion. Reliable with chep parts and no cutting required.

Also. Theres a lot you should look at with older Z's. Send me a PM if ya have any questions. Ive had 3.

Personal loan with really high intrest. Credit union might be a little more flexible.

It sucks that I have to take the hard hit on my credit just to see how much I'd qualify for.

I'd seriously like more information about buying this car.. I'm a little leary now though.

I emailed the seller asking some questions, and apparently the passenger side frame rail is in bad shape and needs to be replaced. That's a pretty big deal, and I have no idea how much something like that would cost.

Don't you hate it when the worst candidates for restoration get restored, leaving lingering problems? :frown:

Text These guys know these cars. Try asking around there.

I don't like most classic cars, especially not Japanese classics, but the old fairlady looks great. And those rims look surprisingly good.

Nice car! I'm totally digging the minature chrome air cleaner cover on the carb. 😀

The rims, fart-can muffler and fender flares have GOT TO go. Really ruins one of the best sports cars of it's time. The engine and suspension look solid enough.

I'd be worried that the shiny paintjob is hiding a lot of rust though. Notice the license plate on that car? Oregon: Snow-slush-salt city, USA! :Q
