Id pick it up if it was less then $15.
My only fear would be that id be the only person playing since everyone is playing bad company 2.
waaah, waaah, waaah
whats funny is that a lot of people who bought it like it and the people still bitching about it are people who didn't buy it.
Enjoy having your gaming experience be controlled by the gaming studio. Say goodbye to free custom maps and custom content. Get ready for $60 consolized PC games and to start paying a fee if you want to play games online.
they like it because there is nothing else like it. he's right though. eventually everything will shift towards microtransaction's where we cannot re-sell anything or customizse anything.
I dont have BC2, but those 2 games are two totally different games.
as a console title, its fine, as a pc title, i also cannot warrant this a purchase. when they drop server support, everyone will be forced to go forward or backwards..take your pick
are you one of those pansies that bitches about MMO fees too?
most custom content made by the players is garbage also.
as far as i know, xbox is the only console that charges to play online, so i'm not even sure where this comment is coming from.

Stop please. I don't have a problem with people defending a game they like, but this is patently false. There are so many games out there that benefit greatly from quality user-made content.
Numerous bug-ridden and/or imbalanced games have been corrected by fan patches. Old games get graphic overhauls because of the dedication of their fans (HL2, STALKER, Morrowind, X-Wing Alliance, Freespace 2). Total conversions turn a game into something completely different (Counterstrike, Mechwarrior: Living Legends, DOTA, the upcoming BSG mod). And then there's just adding new content (units/buildings/models) to keep an old game fresh and interesting.
Of course, most publishers don't like this. Gamers who take advantage of these things extend the life of the older games and make it less likely they'll purchase the latest and greatest $50 title. Hence the move by some publishers to control and eliminate user-made content.

Those being Steam stats, I'd say that's very much apples v. oranges as a direct comparison, given that every single player playing MW2 WILL be logged into Steam while playing, whether they initially purchased it on Steam or not (Steamworks for DRM & matchmaking). Whereas ONLY those customers who bought BC2 on Steam AND are playing while logged into Steam (not mandatory given Steam's offline mode and the in-game server browser's direct connection to EA's Master server) will be included in that number above.Don't worry that wouldn't be a problem:
Current Players Peak Today Game
62,824 90,090 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Multiplayer
15,096 16,607 Battlefield: Bad Company 2

That said, you're right, with 60k-90k playing MW2 on Steamworks, he shouldn't worry about finding a MW2 game.
