I want to get this game Ive seen it in action its amazing,, right up there with UT3 for best engine and multiplayer, alto very different, This is more FEAR style,, anyhow

It needs to go on sale @ steam and be 50 percent off. Then Ill jump on it.

Who else is holding out for price reasons. thx

I've already played it on the PS3, borrowed it from a friend. That being said, I wouldn't purchase it at all. I find BFBC2 much more enjoyable and I refuse to support a game that stripes out core features for a FPS like dedicated servers.

The single player while very cool in many ways, made no sense whatsoever most the time and they just went for shock and awe for everything and it got old real quick.

That was not answering anything the op asked.

I'm not buying it because I did not like any of the COD games after COD2.

I was given the game as a gift several months ago.

Even with all the downsides, I'd say the game is worth $25-30 or so. $60 is too much, and $50 is still more than I'd spend.

I think I got my copy for $50 on pre-order and have definitely got my money's worth out of it. SP is very fun and MP can be very fun too if you don't have cheaters and have a decent connection to the "server".

Completely forgot about Spec Ops after finishing them with my friend. Yes, Spec Ops missions were incredibly fun (some incredibly hard too). They need to make more of these!

Probably the best shooter I've played. Not even close to perfect but it's extremely well done. I'm speaking only of MP here and playing Spec Ops with a friend, the SP in this game made zero sense but I guess it was still fun for what it was. The MP and Spec Ops are the main draw here.

I would easily pay $60 again, I've already logged 155 hours into the game according to Steam and that's pretty incredible for me considering I've been playing some Mass Effect 2 (I keep taking long breaks from this game for some reason... still haven't beaten it.) and BF:BC2 (Level 14 I think).

Anyway, MW2's multiplayer is phenomenal, but I'm often the host and if not I almost always get host next... so my experiences might not be typical.

Yet another war game i have no interest in.

Same. Never could get into war games much. I like my zombies instead ;)

I did get Call of Duty World at War though but only because they have zombie maps for it lol. Plus it was on sale.

if only BC2 had the hitreg of MW2...
MW2 gets a lot of hate but as far as infantry combat is concerned, it is much better than BC2 as bullets go where they're shot and register hits pretty cleanly.

If you purchase MW2, you will be supporting the destruction of PC gaming through consolization (which is the primary reason why UT3 was a stillborn). Please reconsider. Get MW1 if you want to play Call of Duty, but don't support the destruction of PC gaming by purchasing MW2.

waaah, waaah, waaah

whats funny is that a lot of people who bought it like it and the people still bitching about it are people who didn't buy it.

I bought it at retail on release day, at the time is was great...once BC2 came out, I haven't played it since...I just prefer the way BC2 plays.

but if they didn't strip out dedicated servers/custom maps how could they charge 15$ for a couple of rehashed maps?

You might be waiting a while.

There have been sales since release that had it for $50 and Amazon usually sells it around $50. But much more than that? I doubt it.

It must still be selling decently. And I look at COD4, man that game was full price for a long ass time and it still sells for $30. That's why I say it might not show up on a good sale like a lot of games on Steam do.

And overall, the game is awesome. Singleplayer is epic, spec ops is great fun with a friend, and multiplayer is generally awesome as long as there isn't cheaters.

they like it because there is nothing else like it. he's right though. eventually everything will shift towards microtransaction's where we cannot re-sell anything or customizse anything.
I dont have BC2, but those 2 games are two totally different games.

as a console title, its fine, as a pc title, i also cannot warrant this a purchase. when they drop server support, everyone will be forced to go forward or backwards..take your pick
