I want to build a gaming PC for SWTOR and BF3

I will be performing pure gaming on this machine. I have another PC I will be using for internet usage, media (movies, music, etc.) I would like to spend as little as possible but I want to play a variety of games on it, at least ultra settings, preferably max settings for current shooters/mmos. I plan on buying everything from newegg.com and I live in the USA. I don't really have a preference for certain companies. If it works and it works well I will use it. I plan on initially running at default but when I learn more about computers I will possibly overclock. I plan on having this completed at the end of September and ready for gaming in November. I want to play at 1920x1080 and I have a list of PC components ready, I was just wanting some opinions on it to see if it should work. I want to run games like SWTOR, WoW, MW3, BF3, SC2, etc. all on max settings. But I will most likely settle with BF3 on ultra with this system. Any alterations are more than welcome. Thank you!!!!😛

Unfortunately as most of the games on your list are not out yet, we can't really provide any well-founded advice about performance. Anything at this point would just be speculation.

I'm far from an expert, but I have a couple of comments. IMO you should buy a cheaper motherboard and/or get rid of the SSD and instead buy a better GPU - either a 6950, 6970 or 570. Also, you could probably buy a better (lower watt) PSU for the same price.

Because the games arent out yet we cant give you a complete recommendation, however as an alpha tester for BF3 i can assure you a single GTX 460 will not be giving you good FPS on ultra settings at 1920x1080. If you were going to be building in the next week or two here is what I would suggest in order to assure at least good playable frame rates in all of the games posted.

RAM
PSU
GPU
Motherboard

Everything else looked fine (case, DVD drive, and SSD)
However I noticed you had ONLY an SSD, you will not be able to fit all your games on that SSD so I would recommend spending more money for a larger SSD if you want to go ONLY solid state storage or pick up on of these for secondary storage.

Why get that PSU when this one is better, $2 more out the door, and $20 less after MIR:

As for SSD... I would think implementing Caching on the Z68 would suffice, no?

And the board, IMO, is a micro which will limit some options in the future. I would suggest:

Agree. OP, it doesn't look like you have the budget for the typical SSD + HDD combo, so I'd pick up the Samsung F3 that mnewsham suggested and be happy.
