You're obviously too close-minded to reason with. I second what apoppin says.

Go do some research of your own, man. I did, and what I found out blew my mind.

Prove to us that what we're saying isn't true. I gave the source of my information, why don't you give yours?

Synthetic vitamins and supplements are absolutely not the right way of going about things. Do you think your body can't tell? Yeah, right..

I don't even understand your agenda. Why are you arguing with us? Do you have something against eating fruits and vegetables, or something? Just feel like arguing? What?

The fact is, there is no better food on this planet than plant.

<< There is no appreciable difference in women with balanced diets & veggie diets in terms of the development of osteoporosis. >>

You're right because a balanced diet and a veggie diet are almost the same. Most peole who eat meat do not eat a balanced diet so you just proved my point.

You veg-heads have convinced me that it's the way to go.

Except that you're all not really vegetarians. I'm going to stick to a strict diet of grass. I'll just mow the lawn once a week and munch on the clippings. Anybody who eats more than grass is just lying to themselves, they aren't healthy.

BoberFett, ever heard of wheatgrass. Except it isn't generally chewed - it's juiced - because the fiber is too tough to digest for humans. Lawn grass is generally full of chemicals and dog poop.

Where is this "balance" you're talking about? Vegetarian eat ANYTHING (non-poisonous)in the plant kingdom. That is one huge variety store. Why are you ridiculing what you know so little about?

no yakko,

they are not the same, not even close

apoppin,

it is quite obvious that you consider yourself to be stupid & are quite proud of it.

Eli,

there is no difference between 'synthetic' and 'natural'

you have tried to convince folks that meat protein causes cancer & that raw Rhubarb has useable nutrients.

Lead US on, oh Great Ones of the powerful knowledge of fruits, nuts & veggies

As I said cxim, you're too dense to understand even my sig. How can you be an expert on nutrition when your posts are so filled with idiotic fallacies? You are living in a nutritional fool's paradise.

EDIT: You might want to pull that "alien probe" and your head out of the same place it's stuck.

This reminds me of a particular Simpsons episode where Lisa decides to become a vegetarian. In class, she watches a video that has Joe McClure talking to some kid, he said something in the lines of:

"Remember, Billy .. they could come after you .." <close up on cow's face>

Ok cxim if they are not the same post your sources. Give me a list of a well balanced diet as well as the source you got it from. I will then take that same well balanced diet and live just as healthy without the meat in it. If you are so sure of the need for meat how come you can live your entire life in good health without ever eating an animal byproduct but you can't live a long healthy life on only animal byproducts?

Do this simple test. Do not eat any fruits or vegetables for three months and tell me how you feel. Return to your normal diet for three months and tell me how you feel. The last step is to stop eating meat for three months. After the last three months return to your normal diet and tell me how you feel after that first meal with meat. During this whole test do not use any dietary supplements either.

after being gone for about 15 hours since i posted this, i had a lot to read. i came to the conclusion that i will transition my diet to an all veggie diet starting today. perhaps for dinner, ill get some vegetarian pizza. i dont mind vegetarian pizza from pizza hut.

oh yea, im indian, and i dont like indian vegetables 😛. for some reason, they just dont look appealing to me. i enjoy more american vegetables, than anything else 😛

cxim, i believe the others facts are more accurate than yours

DAMN IT! now this shit really pisses me off. i just told my mom i would like to start being a vegetarian today, and she says ok.

then she goes and orders some damn chinese food with MEAT in EVERY DISH!!! :|:|:|

I think the Veggies around here need to do a little research themselves. It isn't the NAME of the nutrient in food, it is the combination of things that make it digestable and readily absorbed in a form the body can use. Most of use eat diets with too much fat. THAT is the culprit, not meat in general.

The best nutritional plan also depends on the individual (that's why some plans fail with certain people while helping others). And there are certain other...mitigating factors to consider. For instance, I once tried to greatly cut out saturated fat in my diet while at the same time ingesting a ton of green veggies. I ended up sitting on the throne far more often than before. Something to think about...

Bash the cow's head in and cut it up into a jigsaw puzzle, I want my filet Mignon! And you vegans can keep your "healthy" diet, you cannot and will not tear me away from my steak!

AMD Junkie Make that filet bacon wrapped and I'll join you!😀

JellyBaby Same problem here! Too many leafy veggies and I'll get that Reader's Digest read in one day!😉

All of which you can do better with a vegetarian diet. Like I said before eat meat if you want but do not tell me it is good for me or needed. The reason I eat the occasional piece of fish and refuse to give up dairy is strictly a taste thing. There is absolutely no nutrients in them that are not found in vegetables and fruit in a more readily absorbable form.

AMD Junkie,

No one wants to take away your filet mingion. Just make sure you clean up after making that jigsaw.🙂

We're not too weak to stop eating red meat, we're too smart to ever stop. Better to be a slave to the meat industry than to be a slave to the Jolly Green Giant, anyways.

yakko, I live in a deed restricted community, I can't go kill my own cows in my own home. But when I can I'll send you a special sampler plus pate! It's never too late to stop being a vegatarian. Join uuuuuuuuuussssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.
