I want/need linux!

Im running XP Pro right now, and for some reason I always want to throw on Linux.. Like RH9/Mandrake.. each time I have a task I want to get done.. this last time was rip a dvd.. got really close.. actually started ripping Anyways it was a big pain in the ass to do it.. depends this and that.. it goes on and on.. I want a distro that will work well with 2 xeons, scsi, and ripping dvd's. Im looking for something with KDE 3, fast, and easy package management, or atleast being able to compile without errors

Debian sarge.

You'll put forth some work to get it installed, but once it's setup it runs forever.

I like Debian, but I think if it's your first time with linux, you might want the ease of install of Mandrake, then move on to Debian when you're ready. BTW, I see you have a Samtron 75V monitor. I have the same one, but mine is going dead (it flickers on the right side).
