Weekend project? Pffft, takes two seconds to spray on, and it's done! I can't believe the quick, quality results. Seems too good to be true, but the stuff is as advertised... amazing!

Just saying I'll do it this weekend. Don't forget I have black bumpers, door moldings, mirrors, etc.

I was about to use something like that, dnet. It was just the fact that I was in AutoZone, they didn't have the oil I wanted, and I didn't want the trip to be wasted. In frustration, I asked about a paint, or dye for the handles, and this kid insisted I try this stuff. All the time I'm thinking, "Yeah right, this will work." He asked what kind of car I had, and he said, he knew exactly what the handles looked like. He had a 1996 G. Marquis out in the parking lot, parked really far away. He was proud of it. When I drove past it, I saw that it was beat. Poor kid. I gotta remember to thank him...

NutBucket, bumpers or not, you'll be done in seconds, not minutes. Swear to God! :Q

Alright, then the weekend is when I'll have time to wash it first😉

Now then, on to finding a tire dressing that stays on for more then 2 days. I wonder what the tire place used. They still look pretty good even 2 weeks later:Q

Ornery, you rock! That stuff works GREAT. The Tire Shine works great as well. My car hasn't looked this good in years. Now to see how long it lasts🙂😀

I was just wondering how you made out with that stuff. I hate to pay $5 or $6 for aerosol containers, but I see the wisdom of it in this application. Keep us posted on when it starts to wear off. I haven't done a second application yet!

My first update is this. I applied this to my side-view mirrors and b-pillars and about 2 hours later went to pick up my gf. Well, I don't know if its because of the kind of plastic or that I didn't let sit long enough but all the side windows had and oily substance streaked across them. So I'm guessing I didn't let it soak in long enough. I did wipe everything down after applying to remove any excess so maybe this is just a side-effect?

This sucks! We've had the car for about a year and a half, and it's been polished about 5 times. The wax was removed from the handles using a paint prep product for that purpose. Pure silicone applied, and the dull finish comes back in about a month. I've also used 'Mother's Back to Black' and Black Magic Trim & Tire Shine'. Am I going to have to paint these black, or what? Some kind of dye?

If you have or can get ahold of some Simple Green, it may be worth a shot. I have a friend who used it on his car who had the same thing happen to his black panels and he had a lot of success with it.

Edit: never mind, just saw the update.

You can't wipe it off. It actually will wipe away completely. I don't know how it works, but it has to soak in. I suppose, if it looks uneven, I'd just spray more of it on. Make doubly sure those b-pillars are plastic at all. They're metal on my wife's car. Yours may be metal painted flat black.

The big problem with that tire shine stuff is when you get it on the treads of your tires. Makes the tires pretty slick for a couple miles.

The b-pillars are definitely plastic. And the stuff was coming off the mirrors as well. You can see the it splattered across the windows. I was wiping it just to get any excess off. But yeah, letting it soak in more is the key.

Well, I tried this stuff this weekend

Its Fantastic!!

I detailed the engine bay on my toyota truck, my 92 explorer, my 96 maxima, and gave a can of it to my neighbor. I bought 3 cans total which sold out their shelf. It really makes your engine bay shine really well.

i'm not just a customer, I'm the president...

no seriously, its really that good. It puts an oily film on which mostly wipes off and keeps that wet look. Similar results could be had with brake fluid, but i wouldnt use BF near paint and BF is more oily.

That's exactly what I was thinking as I sprayed the unwashed running boards on my car. I'm not that fussy about the engine compartment, but there's so many plastic covers, it would be perfect for the job.

Red, I came this close to buying paint or dye for my handles. This stuff is a godsend. That's still a handy link from Allan. None of the auto parts stores around here, carry anything like Forever Black.
