I want Earbuds that stay in ear while jogging!

I've tried about 10 pairs of earbuds ranging from $10-$25 in price, trying to find a pair that stay in my ear while jogging. I found one that was alright, they stayed in if I wore a hat overtop (had to pop back in every 5-10 minutes otherwise), but that didn't really go so well in the summertime. The main problem with that pair though was after a month or two the cord screwed up and sound would be positional in one of the ears. This has happened in many of my various pairs, and is likely quickened by having them move around with jogging.

I'd like to get a recommendation from someone for a pair that really stay in your ear while jogging without a hat or headband, and that wont have a cord short/break after a few months of use. I'm not an audiophile, the sound quality doesn't have to be great.

I'm losing faith here people.

i had tidus' same problem w. any earbuds i used so i picked up some of the in-ear kind you showed above, even with 3 different size pads they came with the things still dont stay in if i am running. they do a lot better than earbuds, but from the constant jarring they will come out. they work for most anybody though. .
 
I've been using these CX300-B for running for a number of months now, and for the price I'd recommend them.

They provide 3 different sets of adapters, so getting a snug fit shouldn't be to a problem. It took me a week of wearing them all to decide on the best set for running. At first there was some wind noise others complained of, but now I don't experience any unless it is really windy.

The sound quality isn't anything special, but it isn't bad either. I use mine with a player in arm band, but there is enough cord to have the player at your waist.

They never come out, and they do a good job of "attenuation of ambient noise" at reasonable volume levels.

there are a few types of IEH, there's bound to be one that works for you. Maybe the largest is not large enough for you?

I used to own those and I could never get them to stay in, no matter what adapters I tried, plus I found the cord much too short.

I eventually had to switch to these: http://www.pricebat.ca/Sony-s-...Headphones.p_10068534/ I know they are not really earbuds, but they have been perfect for running short distances at a fast pace, or longer distances at a slower pace. I've been using them 3-4 times per week for over a year now and never had an issue.

if you get a pair like shures, they are meant to wrap behind and over the hears before insertion, so the added contact area aids in friction

there are also a bunch of earbuds that are attached to arms that wrap around your ears (think Bluetooth headset)...those should be perfect for jogging

I'm 6'5" and my player can be low on my waist and they still have slack. They have never come out on me either. I settled on the medium sized covers. IIRC you were certain yours' weren't the fake ones too, correct? Because it is as if we are talking about 2 different things here. 😕

Yep, I am positive they are not fake. I still have them at home, but I don't use them anymore because I disliked them so much. I either use the Sonys I linked to, or my Zune earbuds.

It does almost sound as if we are talking about different things. :laugh:

I've had a pair of Sennheiser, I believe it was a pair of the CX300 linked above, and they stayed in fine while running or working out.
However, someone one of the earbuds actually snapped. Played music still because the soldering holding the wire in was still connected, but the outer shell was snapped and looked like it was ready to pull apart that soldering at any moment.

Upgraded to a pair of Shure E2C, and they were just as good. Lacking a little bit in the bass, but then again the CX300's focused on bass.
Regardless, the E2C's, connected to my Zune, started falling apart recently. Not build, but they were getting static until I adjusted how the plug was oriented on my Zune. I think the 3.5mm plug got scratched or something. Kind of looked like it had some round scratches.
I've been thinking of getting them replaced through Shure since they are still under warranty, but I figured I couldn't go the few weeks without earphones while Shure had them and had to take their time to decide to just give me a new set, or even the newer models as I've heard they've done.

So I ran out and bought a set of the Shure SE210s. Ooo these are better than the E2C, but they should be considering they are a step above the SE110, which I believe is supposed to be the replacement for the E2C.

And again, these have no problems staying in while running. Shure's are great for that. I use an old Sandisk player for running, and use an arm-band. Wrap the slack around the arm band and put the cord under my shirt, no tugging on cable and they have no problem staying in. And they come with a nice assortment of fit sizes and different types.
A little pricey compared to the cheaper alternatives, but I know for sure they stay in and have great build quality.
 
Sennheiser MX75/85 "twist to fit". I've been using them for about a year. They stay in. They sound pretty good. They are much better than the in ear phones when running outdoors as you can still hear your surroundings. They are water/sweat proof.

Only drawback is that they take some time to get used to before they are comfortable.

Yep, exactly. That's what I got for $25 that stayed in for 5-10 w/o a hat on, with 3 size attachments. Not bad but not really good enough.

I think the around the ear ones that KT posted look the most promising, so I'll look around for a pair and hope for the best. Price seems fair too, certainly compared to all the ones I've gone through already.

Ah yes, I had a pair of these a long time ago, I had totally forgotten about them. The problem with the pair I had was the cord was way too short, and also my cat chewed through it. I imagine the reason I forgot about them was cus I was kinda sour about the short cord, but a longer cord version would be just as good as the over the ear buds, and I think I'd prefer these anyhow.

Dunno how I forgot bout these things, thanks dude.

edit: the other reason I wasn't a fan was cus it messed up my hair and I wore them a lot on the way to school, I was image conscious about it. School's done now though, no more dressup.
 
The Senns CX-400 a a bit smaller than the CX-300 and sound better to boot. They stay in my head longer than the 300s but do occasionally pop out when running. My ear canals are large and have yet to find an IE that completely stays in except for my shure e4c, but I wear glasses and the wrap around and running and glasses are not a good mix.
 
I have a set of Sony in the ear headphones. When I run on the treadmill watching the built in TV on the treadmill and work up and good sweat I get shocked like a MO-FO. It's happened on a couple of different brand treadmills. Anyone else have this happen?
 
i have a plantronics bluetooth headset that stays in all the time. i would look at that brand for music headset.
