OP, if you go to ikea and buy it they will ship it to you for fairly cheap. When I went to college I had 1.5K worth of furniture delivered for 100 bucks. I just went and got it all in the store then you take it to the delivery area and tell them when/where you want it delivered and they'll show up.

I am in Wembley in NW London, England....out of one window i can see Ikea, out of the other i can see Wembley Stadium being rebuilt......cool views...hehe :)

Ikea is nice if you want cheap reliable furniture that has a more modern twist to it....

its not high quality tho, you just get what you pay for.....fun place to visit tho once in a while to browse for oddities....lol

I think the problem is that the minimum delivery charge is $100. At least at the Paramus location (thanks for clarifying, Freejack2) Enterprise rent-a-car is there to rent you a minivan if you desire. $55 flat for 24hrs use. The only trick is that you have to drive it back to Ikea to drop it off. But if you live nearby like I do and want to buy more than will fit in a car and have it all at home the same day it's a great deal.

Whenever someone mentions Ikea I just get the urge to yell "HI-KEEBA!" and karate chop something.

Nope, Ikea pulled out because the city was being stupid in it's demands.

I hate Ikea. They have low quality, overpriced garbage for sale, and their stores are like a zoo.

3 hours to Seattle? Are you in Portland? If so, we're going to get an Ikea by mid-2006 (or earlier). It'll be out by the airport.

You obviously haven't done much furniture shopping. Ikea products may be for the most part low quality, but they are NOT overpriced. Quite the opposite, everything's dirt cheap. Which is why Ikea is so popular.

I don't know about that Linux23. I've been in the Paramus store several times and while it was somewhat busy when I was there this Friday it's not too bad. I was able to walk around and find a few small nifty things for the house. The shelf and bracket for $5 and change is nice. We'll be putting that over the washer and dryer. Got some specialty clothes hangers, some food for the wife, some bowls, and some batteries. I admit I haven't tried their furniture but the other stuff is pretty nifty.
I suppose a good question would be is how do they treat their employees? Do they give them benefits, do they pay reasonably, etc?
