I want a new case for my new build. My cases usually last me through 2-3 builds. I have had my current case for 7 yrs now and really looking from something nice... and am willing to spend decent money

I am really leaning towards a lian li PC-X500FX or a lian li PC-X500, but before I pull the trigger on either, I am looking for other suggestions..

budget
- willing to spend 500, but still would like to spend the least amount I can

Wants
- large mid-tower or full tower
- USB 3.0
- side panel window
- air cooling only
- aluminum is a plus, but not a required
- interior must be anodized or colored... if the case is black anodized, the interior must be black anodized
- must look good... not bulky, not gaudy like the coolermaster HAF series
- must not be finished off with a bunch of plastic.
- quality must justify the price

I really like some of the silverstone setups...but they lack 3.0. which would be OK if they offered up an update.

I was set on the corsair 800D until I saw it in person. quality does mach the price. too much plastic in it

While the 800D is a very nice case, i have one personally, the 650D is a smaller refined version of the 800 & 700D. They took everything that people complained about and fixed it in this model. I had one for about a week or two. I was building a machine for my brother but he wasn't interested in stuff like that, and painfully i returned it.

It's all black.
Cable Management
What appears to be GREAT airflow - 2x 200mm fans, intake and top exhaust, + a rear 120mm fan
Side panel window
upgradable to USB 3.0 front I/O

Corsair Obsidian 650D

EDIT:1
Looks like that have a fix for the "loud" fan problem - Link

JFYI

I just was testing my fans that I recently bought (just opened them up) I have two Slipstream 120mm fans, one 800rpm and one 1200rpm fan. The 800 model is quieter. You may think that's obvious but I took the 1200rpm model down to 800rpm and the same thing I noticed when I first plugged it in was the buzzing of the 0.26a vs the 0.10a on the 800rpm model.

EDIT:2
A really good place to find cheap Lian Li cases is SunDial Micro

Thanks for the info... unfortunately I am kind of turned off to the corsair cases after seeing the 800d in person... though the 650 does look good.

Here are what I have been debating

Silverstone FT02 - I know, no USB 3.0, but found a decent drive bay plate available and it does have a lot of front bays available. what I don't like is the plastic used in the interior. the layout seems nice, especially for a case that sits on a desk. all sides of the case look finished

Lian li PC-X900 - wife wants me to get the red one
Lian li PC-X500FX
Lian li PC-X2000F - BIG money and I would have to cough up more to get the side panel with window

the level 10 GT does look different, but after reading reviews, it kind of seems like a dressed up pig... I think it is a little much for me

I also have a Lian Li PC-A20, also a very comfortable sized case and very quiet.

I've been a big fan of Lian Li. My first case was a PC-60, then the v1100b. I swore i'd only buy all aluminum cases but things change :)

Here is a nice 3 1/2 USB 3.0 2 port bay if you don't find what you need in a case.

If you have a MicroCenter near-by, the 650D is worth a look.

If possible, look into a CaseLabs case. Jim would be able to give you all the information you need for a case if you ask him. The M8 I believe is the smaller cases that are full tower and made out of all aluminum.

Otherwise, a Lian Li is a very nice case and will last for a good amount of time. I agree with the 800D, but after using mine for about 3 months, the only thing I wish they could change is giving a caster kit with it. Steel is just too heavy with a watercooling loop thrown in.

I pulled the trigger on a lian li PC-B25FWB. I really wanted to get the X2000F, but came to the realization, it wouldn't fit under my desk and was just too tall to sit on my desk..... then there was the X500FX, which is nice, but for the money, falls short of the comparably priced X2000F.... then there was the x900. I like it a lot, but felt the front grill would always look dusty

I just couldn't get myself to 'love' the ft02. I didn't like all the front 5.25" bays. didn't like the plastic on the interior. I did like the layout and the side window being on the opposite side of most cases.
