It is nice to see that ATOT has so many passionate animal lovers! I made my husband look at this thread and after he stopped laughing we narrowed down breeds of dogs. It's either going to be a Boxer, Lab, or Golden Retriever. Thanks ATOT!
still haven't decided what breed of mini goat.

Funny. I have two. It's pretty much just the latter with me.

Pygmies are popular but they can also be a little mean if not socialized. I  Nigerian Dwarf goats! If you can find a local breeder you should get a little Nigerian wether.

Thanks! They are so cute. I know a breeder that brings them to this festival I attend every year. I'll talk to him this time and see if a mini goat is something I can actually do.

edit: not sure if they are Nigerian Dwarf goats, though

What about Australian Shepherd. Super smart and not a dog you see everyday, really good looking coat.

if you have a fenced in back yard then go ahead and get an active(fun) dog...we have an Australian Shepherd and a Lab...they keep each other company when we can't. But when I want to play with my dogs it's a blast as both of them are very energetic and will play non-stop. Aussie's make great guard dogs too, they are extremely devoted to their master.

I also vote German Shepherd. Fun, active, smart, loyal, protective and.....MOST importantly....very easily trained.
