It's still an Intel and also doesn't have SCSI. Yawn.
You need to go read the article on this drive over at storagereview. In single user applications this drive beats out scsi. It also holds up very well in games. SCSI is meant for servers. This is a gaming rig.
SCSI puts up a fight on their gaming charts.

But I am not a big gamer, I simply like my system to start up quickly.

Not worth the premium to gamers...a true gamer would rather put more $ into their graphics cards than saving a second or two on a game loading time score. 😛 Even if you like your system to start up quickly, how often do you, as a power user as you'd obviously like us to see you as, restart your computer? I personally do it every few weeks. If spending a lot more money to save yourself a small ounce of time every few weeks is worth the premium, then go ahead and buy your 'needed' SCSI.

SCSI makes your system start up slower from a cold boot, at least if you use any kind of decent controller. Once it's up it's pretty fast, though not worth the noise and heat to myself personally.

Most of the hardcore gamers that I know run pretty old systems, unless they're sponsored. Hardly any of them put a ton of money into their computers, just enormous amounts of time.

How do you put a lot of "time" into your computer without spending a lot?
And just because someone puts a lot of hours into a game that does not make them "hardcore."
I would contend that the "hardcore" gamer resides in a higher "enlightened" state above the rest. So much so, this sort of gamer could not for a second stand to have one outdated part on their system, otherwise it would break their "nirvanic harmony" with their games.

Don't be fooled with all the flames on the side, that won't improve the PCMark score.
In all honesty, the only thing special about it is the quad SLI. But I have a feeling that will become available to the public by the end of the year.
