I want a corvette

I now have decided that I must get a corvette. What do you guys think is the best year for em'? I like the classics more than the currents.

Me and my wife just bought a new car last week. We ended up with the Chevy Cobalt coupe, SS supercharged. While we were walking around the lot looking at what they had she saw a vette. She turned to me and said "Ooohhh, I like that one. Let's get that one!!" Bless her heart, she knows nothing of cars but she has good taste! 😀

Welcome to the club. That would be the "dang, I need to be driving a Vette!!" club! 😉

I've wanted one pretty much ever since I started having testosterone coursing thru my body. My personal favorite is the 63 split window coupe, but you'd better have at least $30k to look at getting one of those in good shape!

My biggest "gee, I should kick myself in the butt" moment? Stationed in the SF Bay area in the mid 80's, my buddy & I were cruising on the highway one day, when I saw my dream car ahead of us. Lo and behold, it even had a "for sale" sign in the back window! I had my buddy catch up to him, and rolled down my window to catch the driver's attention, then motioned for him to roll his window down. I hollered to him, "How much??", to which he replied $12k. Oh well, back then, on a enlisted man's paycheck, that was just too much.

I now realize just how cherry that car was, and what it would be worth today, 20 years later......and know that I should have sold my soul to Satan himself to get it!!

I have a 94 black Corvette convertible A4 with the LT1, an 86 TransAM 5spd with a HO 305, and a 99 Camaro Z28 A4 with the LS1. To tell you the truth, I like the Z28 more. It's quicker and you can really feel the torque. I'm thinking of selling the C4 to get a nice used C5.
