They look cool as hell (unfortunately too expensive)

Anyone want to chip in & we could mail it back & forth to each other to torture people?

<--Would love to see someone spike their cell phone into the ground like a football after beng tortured with one of these:)

Yea right. I'll be mailing it out to you every month. WTF. The purpose of using this would be what exactly? You don't have anything better to do now do you?

I agree, but using such a device in that situation would hardly be 'torturing people'. IMO theatres should install some sort of blocking scheme to begin with.

Imagine an emergency situation you were unable to repsond to due to your phone being blocked. I'd sue the fvck out of the theatre chain.

Just don't get caught...you REALLY don't want a $10,000 fine and a felony conviction.

Just because some people are asses doesn't mean everyone else should be inconvienced by not being able to receive calls or something. I mean, those of us who are responsible DO turn our phones on silent and will happily go out in the halls to answer a call if it might be important. Not only that, but people DO make mistakes and forget to put their phone on silent.

Just because some people are stupid doesn't give people the privledge of being a jackass to everyone.

LOL you people crack me up. You must be too young to remember the days (where it was peaceful) before cell phones. Yeah we still went to movies and yeah it was a lot better without the damn cell phones.

Ok, I accept the fact that we have cell phones. I think any upscale restaurant and any movie theatre has the right to screen activity. Not a total block mind you. All incoming calls would go to your provider (just like you were out of area) and outbound calls restricted to 911 ONLY. This way no more annoying use AND in the remote chance of a bona-fide emergency, you can still call an emergency number.

Illegal.

Actually it's not. It's illegal to jam signals, not illegal to block them. Some company developed a material that blocks signals, it's meant specifically for movie theaters, restaurants, etc. It's sandwiched between plys of wood and replaces plywood when building the building.

One of these might actually make it possible to date sorority chicks too. Imagine actually being able to talk to them instead of listening to them answer their phones all the time.

I leave my phone on vibrate and take my calls out to the foyer when I'm at the movies. I think that there should be sound meters installed at everyone's seat and if the noise level exceeds a certain decible (like ringtone/baby-crying), the person dies in a fire.

Evil.

And arod, why don't they? Just because they're on call doesn't mean they have to sit at home waiting for the phone to ring.
