I want a 06 Civic SI Coupe

after sitting in the Civic EX, i realised how awesome of a car it is.

so integrated, so slick, so comfy, so practical.

but i cant jsut settle with that.

i figure i could hopefully pick up an SI at MSRP (long shot)

get a trade in, be around 13K for the car finance it for about 60 months, make the payments.

own the car, sell it and lose like 3 grand over 5 years for the car.

stupid 02 SI's sell for about 13K now, and retailed for 17k (WTF!)

The current Si will keep value, that's for sure - I'd wager to bet it will have some of the lowest depreciation in the Honda family, considering they're being limited in the quantities being built.

That said - I want one too 😀 Sweet machine - but I want mine with navigation 🙂

no... not many have 06 Civic SI's.

and the new ones are just like light years ahead of the old in terms of bland and borin.

bah, i know which way north is, and i know how to read a map.

i dont need no stinkin nav. its a cheap option, but eh.

although Nav's supposedly help Resale value a TON.

I can read a map too, and know which way is north - I just like it for its gadget factor 😛 Plus - I'm alway traveling - would be useful 🙂

You need to build up your skill to ride in winter. As far as computers and alcohol, store the alcohol inside your stomach, hold onto your computer with one hand, and gun it!

i betcha even if i did that, i still wouldnt be stupid enough to over correct, fly back across a road, and down into a ravine, through like 40 trees....

It's still a freakin Honda. 😛

They will be out in force eventually, and you know it. But it's not necessarily a bad thing. Afterall, it will be because it's such a good car.

Meh, get something with some torque. The new Si looks nice, but doesn't it have like 8-9K redline? And peak torque is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up there. I'm barely liking the 2.5L H-4 in my Subbie Legacy GT; I couldn't imagine a high strung engine like that AND it requiring premium.

There is no replacement for displacement 😀

buy one. getting one @ msrp is easy. problem is since most pre-allocated cars and soon-to-be-arrivals are already spoken for, you just have to wait for the next round (march). navigation is totally unecessary--i just drive to/back from work in 1 city--but it makes the interior much more upscale.. non-nav dash looks soooo boring. plus, when you're ready for the next car in your life... you can unload the Si with very little loss

win.win.win

(cant wait for my white & nav to be delivered 🙁)

navigation is actually pretty useful particularly if you keep going to new places. It's like have a "you are here" map everywhere, all the time.

yea, it would be useful, and it should help the Resale value, but i still need to figure out how im paying for it to begin with.

i will have a job, but not sure if i can make the $300 or so payments on it a month.

I dunno if I'd call it crappy, but yeah, I wouldn't go for a Mustang unless I could afford the GT. Although for that price, I'd probably end up with an Impreza instead.

But for now, sticking it out in my Hyundai. Heck yeah.

Saw a couple SI coupes on the road. Which I waited and bought that instead of the tC. The instrument panel is siiiiiick.
