I'm trying to find a place where I can get a dirt cheap/free computer. This would be used for a dedicated web server for my church's website. I'd run it over cable. It would also be an educational experience for me, as I would learn Linux, mail/web/ftp/telnet servers, web design, etc.

A friend mentioned that big corporations may be willing to donate a computer. If this is so, how would I go about contacting the right people? There are companies like National Life and IDX near me(Central Vermont). Thanks to any help.

Why not have the church put a plea/request/ad in the Sunday bulletin? I'd bet you'd get a good response as a donation should be tax deductible and taxes are on everyone's mind about now. Just a thought.
 
i would like the i wanna thread to be cut about the usual length the other threads are (to about ~100 posts) and if a person sees the thread down to that number, then the person should be allowed to start a new i wanna thread becuase it takes a long time to scroll through the pages, even if you have your preferences set at about 50 posts at a time.

I wanna 7200 rpm hard drive that's cheap. I don't particularly care what size, but 15GB+ would be nice. ATA/66 is a plus too.

I wanna some quality CDRs......where are all the CDR deals? I totally missed the 200 for free deal, but at the same time, I'd really like something of better quality than PNY or Prime. I'm used to buying Kingston 80min 12x from Outpost for less than $20 free shipping like the good ol days, but I don't see anything like this anymore.

Really looking for 50pks / 100pks of quality 80min/700mb cdrs. Feel free to pm or e-mail me instead of posting here as its a pain to sift through all of these
