With the gas powered guns, you don't need to get gas canisters for the most part, you buy the gas in a can and then you spray it into the bottom of the magazine where the canister is actually located.
You'll also need to get a pair of goggles or use a paintball mask. I had a balaclava and a pair of military-grade goggles. I also used urban camos. I was going to get a tactical vest but, unfortunately, the police decided our guns were a little bit too realistic... If you get a handgun, get a holster for it. Extra batteries for the AEGs is a good idea as you don't want to run out of juice in the middle of a firefight as well as multiple magazines so you don't have to refill all the time. Also make sure you have plenty of padding as the plastic BBs that are fired do leave a mark. I found the gas powered stuff hurts a heck of a lot more at closer ranges than the AEGs. Luckily, I was firing the gun when I found that out

.
Also, if you are to play airsoft, do so out in the forest or some other area away from people. Unless you want to shoot up your own house.
BTW, if you get an airsoft gun,
keep the orange painted tips on the guns. They're too realistic looking to take a chance.
