hmm, well they were getting desperate in the early 90's, let's see in the comics:
bishop - could absorb kinetic energy, and redirect it
strong guy - could absorb kinetic energy as well, and was strong and goofy looking
i know other mutants - could absorb kinetic energy, whatever that meant.
gambit- could spontaneously create kinetic energy, usualy used it to "charge" playing cards.
so, my choice would be strong guy or bishop, only if i had made gambit my bitch, so he could give me ridiculous amounts of power, and i'd own anybody i'd want. Yeah, i'd probably have to feed gambit and such, but it's a small price to pay to be able to conquor, er, protect....the world.
If not that, howabout shadowcat? being able to turn intangible at will is freaking amazing, although, how does gravity still affect her?
No, I would be rogue, I'd kill and permanantly take the powers of bishop, gambit, and shadowcat, then blow the dark phoenix into an alternate universe hahahahahahaha!
