The GF and I wake up to NPR in the morning. This week, our local DC station (WAMU) is doing a special series on teen pregnancy in the District.

Usually, NPR allows me to wake up in a rather relaxed state but these two clips got me a little frazzled.

Hint: It has to do with the "public assistance" aspect. In other words, my tax dollars.

Am I alone on this one? How do you all feel?

Clip #1 from March 1

Clip #2 from March 3

(Each MP3 clip is about 5 minutes long.)

It's nothing new. They decided to have the sex, they knew the consequences, they should be able to support the baby they have, and shouldn't have to rely on me and you to support them.

hmmmmm....... this is just the Tip of the Ice burg. I don't see anything wrong with this, then high powered government workers stealing millions of tax dollars so that they can vote no on health care. The door swings both ways... But worrying about the have nots should be the least of your problems. Just think how many people lost their healthcare benefits today and are going to hospitals anyway for medical needs ... Just think about all the premature babies that are born with no health insurance. Do you have any idea how much it cost to keep a premature kid alive?

So...... again this should really be no concern of yours.

$400 a month? Gimme a break. Whole program is Chump change relative and IMO is immoral and bully behavior to talk of pulling since they, un-wed young mothers and their children, are weakest members of our society.
