i upgraded my cdrw and now nero does not detect my new cdrw? ***PROBLEM SOLVED***

i upgraded from a 24x lite-on to a 40x lite-on. now when i go to nero, i only see the image recorder under "choose recorder". i tried to uninstall and reinstall nero, but the cdrw is still not showing up. does anyone know how i can fix this?

You need to update nero too.🙂

download the lastest version, install it over your current install. the lastest version 5.5.9 does support the liteon 40, and 48 as well.

how long does that take to burn a full 700mb cd? I just sold my lite-on and picked up a refurbed 36x12x48 cyberdrive from newegg(it appears to be new, oem) and my cd's seem a little slow, but I updated firmware and it's a little faster...about 3 min for a 700mb cd(including lead in/out) from about 5 min from my 16x..

on the other hand, i'm pretty impressed with the cyberdrive quality, I expected something kinda low quality low price like lite-on, but the tray is nice, sturdy and stable, and the buttons are easier to push/use than on the lite on, but it's a little louder than it..no big deal, probably because of 16x>36x

i haven't tried to burn a full cd yet, as i was messing around with the dvd i got from newegg (i got a black 16x lite-on dvd and a black 40x lite-on cdrw 😀). one thing i noticed on the 40x cdrw is that is ended with the letter W.... so i think tomorrow i will try to flash the firmware to 48x 😎 i probably won't make much of a difference, but its all about bragging i suppose 😛

Well, I have a crappy 12x Creative burner atm (48x Plextor on the way!), but I hear folks bragging about 40-48x recording appraoching 2 minutes for a full 700 MB. My 12x takes just over 7 minutes 🙁

I did it, and it is a nice 45 second increase 😛

Just to say you burn cd's in the 2min range is sweeet 😀

going from 24x to 40x? that's freakin' awesome. Usually people can go from 24x to 32x but haven't seen one that can jump speed like that.
