I turn 30 next week...

I'm 38 and in a similar position. I just ran 12 miles on Saturday, have a half marathon to do outside of Vegas in March and have more (and better) sex now than I did when I was 25.

I've also got an incredibly more rich social life now than I have at any other point in my life. And that's all happened in the last 2 years.

Yeah. And honestly, the more I see those my age slowing, the more drive I have to push myself more. I was in the Marine Corps for five years. It wasn't until I got out and didn't have to run that I ran my first half marathon. I've started bodybuilding, with pleasant results. All while those my age get fatter and weaker.

Relax. I'm 35 and have an ulcer and a missing disk in my back. It gets better and better I assure you.

That's not really reassuring. 😛 That's the main thing that bothers me is 30 is when all the real health issues start to happen. Not looking forward to that. Bone issues, intestine issues, heart issues, memory issues etc.

I started working out in hopes I can postpone at least some of that. I don't have any grey or white hairs and most people think I'm like 15 so if that's an indication of how my body is aging then that's good. 😀

30?

30 was so long ago for me, I barely remember it.

Right there with you.

Reading this sort of made me feel like an exception. I mean, yeah, I'm 33 and not getting any younger; however, I'm fitter and more attractive than I've ever been. I'm finishing my first year of law school. I have some amazing stories behind me, but have even more interesting stuff ahead of me. Not just in my own view, I'm more desirable physically, emotionally, and professionally. I feel like I'm still on an upward trajectory.

My point? Don't accept it, reject it, tell it to go fvck itself, and make yourself even better than you were.

I feel the same way. I've been lifting for 8 years straight and I feel that I am getting much stronger than I could have when I was in my early twenties. It is easier to put on fat now, but I also know exactly how to take it off easily. Lazy people have a hard time aging, or people that get injured (may not be their fault.)

I didn't take care of myself at all in my 20s. Now that I am actually starting to take care of myself in my early 30s, I feel better than ever. Not only am I fitter, my mind is sharper and my memory is better.

I'm 1 year away from 40. Back when I was 30, I walked to work in the snow, uphill, both ways. You whippersnappers don't have any idea what it means to WORK.

Hey now, I just finished that. I turned 31 today. I remember last year on my 30th birthday going "ughhhh", but it really isn't that bad. That said, I gained about 15 pounds this year....

Completely agree.

First pic, I'm in my early 20s. I'm all the way on the right.

Second pic, I'm 32. You be the judge, am I just full of myself lol?

You're still around? What the hell, you started this thread almost two whole days ago with both feet already in the grave.

I'm not kicking the bucket until I get my social security money back and perma-banned on these forums. :colbert:
