I turn 21 on Sunday - Gonna make my first ever beer run

Suggestions?

I like beers like Heinekin (sp?), corona, and if I'm in the mood for a lighet tasting beer maybe a rolling rock or two.

I'm interested in trying some new stuff like maybe sam adams or xx.

I hope the cahsier doesn't look at me funny for buying alcohol alone on my birthday.

2/3 of those beers are crap. (Hein and Rolling Rock) Sam Adams is a bitter POS (imo anyway). Get some Shiner and some MGD for light beer.

ThunderbirdElitist, if you're going to drink alone on your birthday Sunday, hit the local Liquor store Saturday and pick up some hard liquor and enjoy the festive day IMO 😀

As a public service, I'll be on-line Sunday as I watch the NFL, if you feel the need PM me 🙂

I like the stronger europeans type beers, my brother in law drink heinaken because he says it's very close to the beer they drink in the Czeck republic where he grew up.

Thanks for the offer, but I've been drinking for along time so I can more than handle myself. 😎

To me, Sam Adams is just bitter. Not quite the bitterness of a Fat Tire, just worse. Red Stripe is pretty good though. Killians Irish Red is also very good

Have you had Heinken or are you just going off what he said? Just make sure it's ice cold - supposedly that's the only way it's any good. Maybe that's why I despise the stuff, b/c I've never had it chilled on ice.

no I have drank it on many occasion and I did drink it very very cold, I could understand how it would be bitter if no very cold.

I've been drinking for a while, I just want opinions on a wider assortment of beers now that I can shop on my own for it.

I'm in a Tennents drinking phase, other nice beers include, Guinness, Harp and Carlsberg. Not really into light beers much, like what's the point... it's like eating soup using a fork, the intention is there but you ain't gettin anywhere 😛

Heh. A month after I turned 21, I went to buy some beer, but the cashier could not do simple math. She kept insisting that I was not 21 and only got louder as I told her to check the date on the driver's license. How do you argue with someone who can't subtract? Oh well, she figured it out after 2 minutes of telling me I was too young.

from my experiences Dos Equis (XX) Amber was much better than regular XX...

go with something you can drink a lot of since it's your birthday....

and happy birthday.. mine is wednesday (day before thanksgiving).. downtown chicago bars here i come

Do what I did on my 21st and get yourself a 6 of O'Douls. 😀

But yeah, you'd better turn around and get yourself something good immediately afterward.

Dos Equis (XX) is fvcking awesome. But then again, I love Mexican beer.

On the other hand, you could always just go with PBR and earn some respect for for drinking the beer with the "street cred." And by street cred, I mean that it's the CHEAPEST BEER POSSIBLE

Stone Brewing IPA. My favorite beer right now.

Sam Adams makes more than just their Boston Lager. Try the Cream Stout, it's damn good. I just finished a 6 of Cherry Wheat, too sweet for me.

Heinekin comes in dark, haven't gotten around to trying it yet though.
