Full size Bronco or a Bronco2?

If it is a 2 then yea its junk, but if it is a Full size V8 with little to no rust then fix it. Also how can you need $800 in brakes for a older American truck???
And if it is a full size with little rust then I will take it off your hands and get it out of your way 😉
No charge 🙂

As for replacment look at a Trailblazer or GMC Envoy. I don;t know if they have come down in price enough yet but you never know, eBay?
My 1987 Crown Vic needed the front brakes done last year. New rotors, pads, brake fluid, etc. With taxes it came $435 CDN.

My rear brakes needed to be done last month. They needed shoes, wheel cylinders, spring kit and general reassembly. Total cost: $325 CDN.

Nes pas?

I use to have my own shop, Marlins Auto, and also my grandmother use to drive a 87 Crown Vic.

Front Brake job: Rotors $40 each Pads $25 Brake fluid/Cleaner/grease $20 Labor $120 = Grand Total $245

Rear Brake job: Shoes $15 Wheel Cyl's $25 Spring kit $15 Brake fluid/Cleaner $10 Labor $100 = Grand Total $165

Of course those are american prices, this is an american web-site and all so only fair 😉

If I did both front and rear at the same time it would be less, but those are general estimates. Also take the labor off and do it yourself for almost nothing.
Yup, cheaper in the states.

I would never do my own brakes. If something screws up, I got someone to blame. 😉

Yup labour is the killar. And taxes here too.

If your brakes are messed up you may not get a chance to blame someone at all 😉.

Most car work is pretty basic esp now that OBDII Readers are within easy grasp for most. Mechanical things are basically get the manual and follow the directions. Autozone is good for free specialty tool rentals. About the only thing I won't attempt yet is a full bottom end rebuild due to proper space. Once I have my workshop back I may take on a 'popular' engine to build and resell.

The hardest jobs I have had are the most asinine. 1) a crank shaft bolt (main pulley) that wouldn't break loose (had a 6 foot breaker arm and was lifting the front end off the ground) and 2) all my a/c bracket bolts were not anti-seized + something beyond locktite was used even with a 6 point socket the heads rounded right off....eventually I got both...but talk about PITA.

I converted my saturn to all discs from disc/drum. The MC was good, did the lines, Stillen rotors, emergency cables, Stillen pads, calipers, speedbleeders, super blue ATE, caliper paint and I think I had about $600 into it.

My friend Keith I have mentioned before (got a new IROC at 13, then about a new car like 930 turbo, 308, 318, 328 Ferrari's, Lotus Espirit, Supra, 4-Runner, etc every month or so), was trying to get a full-size bus converted to a convertible (actually topless totally), however the design was difficult due to the roof providing much of the support for the body on the aluminum skinned box. Then he would need a special license to drive it...also the school denied allowing a bus/trailer to park.

It would have been cool though having our own bus. Probably would have missed most days....

I read through the rest of this thread and no one had a ROFL on this. Truly golden 🙂 Especially with that pic that alkemyst had of himself earlier. Looks like he's done more than a few 8balls in his life.

Mazda 3-5 door. Not exactly a SUV, but it has lots of room. I have the Mazda Protege 5,and I can fit my 5 pc. drum set with all the hardware plus a passenger in the front seat.

I'd rather the 8ball's than the 2balls firmly attached to your chin regularly.

I got my 91 Taurus front brake job done at the local shop in (Victoria BC) done last year:
New Rotors at $14.00 each
Pads $45.00 per pair.
+ Fluid, grease, labor & tax
Grand total of $240.00 CDN.

I know how to do my own brakes job, but at the above price I didn't bother to do it myself.

[add] Purchased it 6 years ago for $3000.00 CDN with very clean interior at 130K & it is now have over 250K with out losing oil + the transmission still in excellent condition.

Lucky me 🙂

That was not a gay joke. Don't be a crybaby, if you can't deal with it, don't try to dish it out.

I think I hear your mother calling.....oh wait she's calling me. She wants you to go play in traffic.

Its amazing that an obvious genetic defect like yourself has been able to live thirty years as a social outcast without blowing your own head off.
