I took the sissy bar off the bike, much better imo

What's a sissy bar? Got a before pic? (I am thinking it's something to protect you from burning yourself on the exhaust?)

It goes on and off without tools so I can put it on when my wife wants to ride

Yup, love the quick-release sissy bar. Have one for my Sporty so that I can use a large bag that mounts to the sissy bar. Saddlebags on a Sporty don't work so well, plus you have to relocate the turn signals.

Nice looking bike, I've always like the Softails. Someday I want a Night Train, but that's a long way off.

A sportster should always have a sissy bar on it...it is a girl's bike after all. 😉😛

It's faster and better handling than any Harley (excepting the VRSC models), I'll deal with the girl's bike comments. 😛

I think a Sporty will outrun a V-Rod in the turns, 32 degree lean angle is all the V-Rods have. I've left a lot of chrome on the ground.

I'm just busting your balls. 😉 I was considering buying a Sportster a few years ago...probably the only Harley I'd ever consider owning really.

How do those solid wheels feel in strong cross-winds? I've always liked the look of them, but I just don't think it'd work well here in Iowa.

The CVO convertible has a nice, tooless quick detach on it as well.

I'm starting to like the XR1200. I have got an itch to get something new(er) than the '48.

Sporty has the same lean angle for the Roadster models. The Custom and Low are even worse. On the Sporty though you'll drag the foot pegs before any chrome.

I like the VRSC models as well, and I do have a soft spot for the Softail Custom as well as most of the Dynas, but I just can't see myself on the Touring models. My favorite is still my own bike though. The Sportster Roadster just looked right to me from the very beginning.

With as much as I like the way it looks, I probably ought to wash it sometime... :hmm:

I love big tank Sporties. I've got an '83 XLS with the old ironhead 1000CC motor. It's irritating going on road trips with guys who have peanut tanks. 😀
