I'm either going to soon be abducted by the Russian mafia (and die a miserable, miserable death), or I will be buying complete albums of music for the same price as a single song from iTunes (suckers!).

While THIS site is probably far from being legally dependable, it was enough to convince me that it's safe... for now. It mentions that there is such a giant loophole in the Russian law for media distribution, that the RIAA probably will never even consider trying to shut it down. *shrugs* Ok, good enough for me.

Sooo... damn... AWESOME. I feel like I've just discovered one of the best things in existence. There are about 83 albums off the top of my head that I would like to get. *goes back to browsing*

I used a standard bank debit through Visa. I read in their FAQ that some Visa's weren't be accepted...

Indeed. So far, I've used it two ways:

Replacing my old analog cassettes with 384bps MP3's.
Listening to the "samples" (really low bitrate MP3's) as a radio while at work. This works well since my PC at work has only the crappy internal speaker.

There has been lots of argument about the RIAA and how much artists actually get. What's awesome is that AllOfMP3 pays ROMS who pays ARTISTS, not labels. Whether the artists get to actually keep that money, or how much they get, I have no idea. But at least the effort is being made.

In today's climate, I refuse to pay for a CD from a RIAA label, and so far haven't really had any bands on independant labels interest me enough to buy a CD. So the last CD I bought was the first Van Halen "Best of" album. And that was only because of the new DLR songs on it. 😉

I wish AllOfMP3's catalog was more extensive, however. There are relatively current bands and CD's that they just don't have, like King Missile.

It's the bank deciding where you get to use your card. They block online casinos and such too... I think it's a load of crap, but they're all doing it now. :|

You're a brave man, a debit card! I wouldn't sleep well. Is the use of a CC required? I gave my CC number twice to companies abroad. Unauthorized charges both times (coincidently, two "well respected" travel agents).

I use my bank card too. No problems and if there is my money is replaced within 24 hours.

Been using it for a while but I dont really download much off them since they dont have a large selection of the music I'm into. The file explorer program they offer is also a nice piece of software, they know a thing or two about user friendly and simple

my mastercard works fine

i don't check that 'registered card' thing though, i dunno what that is
