while i'd like to say i'd agree with you, some guys just cannot pick out jewelry to save their life. what they think might be "cute' is obscene to others, and those sales people just push you the most expensive item they can.

you could be like me, just say "i can't stand this cut of diamond, it'd look horrible on my hand" 😀

congrats. though. don't let the guys here get you down - a lot of people pick their rings out together now.
 
Congrats - I just got engaged last Thursday. I went with a 1ct round and Scott Kay platinum ring. She was most impressed. It wasn't nearly as hard to propose as I thought it'd be. (maybe it was the several drinks beforehand, heheh)
