Facebook photo sends woman to prison for 12 years
Amy Marie Butler, one of six codefendants in a aborted 2005 marijuana robbery that left two Olivehurst men dead, was sentenced this morning in Yuba County Superior Court to 12 years in prison after violating her probation.
Butler, 24, violated her probation by holding a handgun on a camping trip and posting a photo of it on Facebook.
Butler pleaded no contest in 2009 to robbery involving a deadly weapon and conspiracy. In September 2005, Butler stayed home in Antelope while five co-defendants drove to Olivehurst in the middle of the night to steal marijuana. Michael Huggins shot Christopher Hance and Scott Davis with a .45-caliber handgun during a struggle. Huggins was convicted of voluntary manslaughter.
Judge Kathleen O'Connor gave Butler the maximum term.
"I'm just happy with Judge O'Connor, that's all," said Hance's sister, Sheila.
