Yeah, we've now got a Minimum Fuel Markup law in effect. WI govt has got to be one of the most asinine groups of minds to ever convene.

Election time is coming up.

Yep , and the Repugs know that gas prices being lower is one of the only ways they can get re-elected, especially with there being no chance of a troop withdrawal in Iraq with the idiot chimp in control.

That would be something to see, Election trumping storms and wars.

So it starts:

8-25-2006 Oil climbs toward $73 on U.S. Gulf storm worry

Oil prices climbed toward $73 on Friday as another storm brewed in the Caribbean with the potential to reach the Gulf of Mexico next week, creating worries over U.S. production already trimmed by an outage in Alaska.

A spinning band of squalls in the southeastern Caribbean was on the verge of becoming Tropical Storm Ernesto by Friday, expected to head northwest toward the Gulf of Mexico by the middle of next week, forecasters said.

"Traders have turned their focus from comfortable inventory levels in the U.S. to storm activity out in the Atlantic," said Tobin Gorey of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Bush releasing some of the US Strategic oil supply to get prices down in time for the Nov elections?

That won't help if the Hurricane takes everything out in the Gulf again.

Now seems like a good time to invest in a couple hundred of extra gallons to stick away for when the prices hit the fan again.

No, no, no. Stockpiling only creates an artificial demand which spikes prices and causes shortages.

they do it because they don't want walmart to sell it below cost and push locally owned gas stations out.
