I think we should give Bush some credit

AFB

Lifer
All this Bush bashing. The man has done some great things for his country and I realized how proud I am to have him as president.

His list of accomplishments:
  1. He prevented another terrorist attack from taking place
  2. He has established very favorable ties with the peoples of India & China with his economic policies
  3. He he has prevented slavery from returning to this country
  4. Courageously defeated the vicious Iraqi and Afghani armys
  5. He has kept the unemployment under 10% thanks to his tax cuts
  6. Amazingly helped to start the recovery of the bad economy he inherited
  7. Stood up to the Communists that told him there were more important things than Iraq (e.g. The French)
  8. Cleaned up pollution via the Clean Air Act
  9. He hasn't had realtions with that woman
  10. Dow Jones up from March 01
  11. Stopped the anthrax attacks
  12. Signed the largest and most expensive socialized healthcare plan in US history (Medicare Reform Act of 2003).

Feel free to post more

Sure, I'll bite. I'll take number 1.

We first got attacked at the WTC in 93, and then again in '01. How can you say that he's done anything at all to stop terrorist attacks in just three years, when there was 8 years in between?

EDIT: I'm a little slow today. Don't mind me. I'll shall leave the original content of this post so the world can marvel at my stupidity.

That's a fallacy, a tiger rock by one name. Even the Simpsons understood this:

Homer: Not a bear in sight. The Bear Patrol must be working like a charm.
Lisa: That's specious reasoning, Dad.
Homer: Thank you, dear.
Lisa: By your logic I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away.
Homer: Oh, how does it work?
Lisa: It doesn't work.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Lisa: It's just a stupid rock.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Lisa: But I don't see any tigers around, do you?
[Homer thinks of this, then pulls out some money]
Homer: Lisa, I want to buy your rock.
[Lisa refuses at first, then takes the exchange]

Just because you haven't suffered another attack doesn't mean that your country is safer, or Bush has done his job. It's a similar fallacy to blaming Bush for 9/11 because there were no hijacked planes crashing into buildings in the US until he was President.

Yeah, seriously. In 2000 you could pre-order slaves on the intraweb. Bush squashed it before it even started!

Why does everyone forget about the Anthrax Attacks?

About John Lee Malvo

Who else?

Iraq didn't attack us but the murder of 1000+ of our soldiers feels like Terrorism to the families of those brave men and women

Beheadings galore in Iraq are considered terrorism

1. Ok, at best, he prevented terrorist attacks here, and instead the terrorists are killing our soldiers over there.
2. Is that why all the jobs are going to India? I don't like China, I just like the Chinese people.
3. Slavery? where? what are you talking about?
4. The soldiers did it.
.....

oh wait, you're just kidding aren't you?

That's a fallacy, a tiger rock by one name. Even the Simpsons understood this:

Homer: Not a bear in sight. The Bear Patrol must be working like a charm.
Lisa: That's spacious reasoning, Dad.
Homer: Thank you, dear.
Lisa: By your logic I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away.
Homer: Oh, how does it work?

Heh, I was looking for that quote. Of course if people really understood the implications here, I think we might have fewer Bush supporters. For better or worse, people seem to feel Bush is protecting them. Of course there seems to be little evidence to suggest actions like Iraq are making us safer...but he says it so it must be true 😉

I guess the quad damage hurricanes were Florida's fault since they voted the wrong way 4 years ago, or will vote the wrong way in the future.

11) Was able to follow clinton's lead and brought both bush and dick back into the White House

I know what you mean, I kept getting spam for that five times a day.

I wasnt aware that Bush was in office in 1993???

Maybe you can blame the USS Cole on Bush also . . . .

Kind of stretching the truth a bit there arent we?

What did Clinton ever do to combat this problem?

Remember you brought it up.

Learn to read, he was showing the amount of time between attacks. No one blamed Bush for anything.

It was wrong when it was first posted (it said spacious, not specious), I didn't correct it when I quoted, then cquark fixed it.

Clinton was a Communist French lover and 9/11 was Clinton's fault. Where did I say it was Bush's?

Wow, I completely forgot about that. The past 4 years have been a great time for national criminals

Yeah, that deserves its own topic almost.

My hunch it was some domestic terrorist that planned it well before 9/11. I'm guessing a lot of those types decided to cool it when they found someone better to hate besides other Americans.
