I think we should get rid of drivers licenses

It's so you don't kill somebody by driving like a total fool. (And it's a great way to hit everybody up for cash at the DMV.)

lol no, it actually has more to do with reading about all the morons losing their credit cards over the years or being scammed by some prince in Africa, whatever. idiots on the internet have caused more damage than idiots on the road. lets just get rid of licenses and all the stupid fucking unnecessary bureaucracy that goes along with it. just give kids a class in school, keep the laws and enforcement, abolish the licensing system and DMV.
The difference is that on the internet, the morons are only (mostly) harming themselves. On the road, they have much more potential to harm me.

wrong. credit fraud hurts EVERYONE who uses credit. you keep compounding the issue and it costs more and more money to run the credit. just like an insurance companies rates will go up if they take on a lot of bad customers. billions are lost every year due to morons with computers, hurting EVERYONE in the process.

also, that was kind of my point lxskllr. the license for driving hasn't stopped the flood of idiots on the road and we don't require a license to stem the flow of idiots on the internet. if you weigh monetary losses of each I'm guessing they aren't much different.

getting rid of drivers licenses != getting rid of rules of the road. also, like I said just make it a fucking class in high school problem solved. school is mandatory thanks to our nanny state so why not handle business there and teach EVERYONE how to drive and the rules of the road?

First off, comparing the damage from credit card fraud to the damage from poor driving is absurd. If someone engages in credit card fraud and inadvertently makes it harder for me to get a loan, then that is certainly a bummer... but it really will never compare to someone who doesn't know how to drive running into me and killing me. There is literally NOTHING that someone can do over the internet that would end with me dead; that's not true when talking about a vehicle.

Second, you keep mentioning credit card fraud, but that can be done without the internet just fine, as my friend discovered during his idiotic teen years when he stole credit cards from a gym locker and used them (and promptly picked up some felony charges). You also mention people falling for scams, most of which are generated in other countries, so they wouldn't be affected by an "internet license" (unless you're trying to say that only people with common sense can use the internet, which, let's face it, would never, ever make it as legislation). Trying to regulate the actions of fools is inherently foolish.
