And other teams are not in the same boat/similar situation?

Teams lost players via retirements, quits, injuries, free agencies, suspensions, arrests, etc.

Baltimore had one of the biggest turnovers of key players that I've seen in recent memory. Lewis, Reed, Pollard, Kruger, Williams, Boldin, Pitta, ect. All guys who were fairly key players(playmaker or team leader) for them are gone. That's hard to overcome without some games under your belt to see how the next guys step up and fit in.

i know other teams are in the same boat, i never said otherwise. but you claimed that the superbowl champs don't look like the superbowl champs, and they shouldn't, because it's a totally different team.

Ok, let talk about the players from last year team.

QB = did you see many of his throws? Flat and not accurate, not even close. Even when he was not in a hurry. Hard to believe it was the same QB that beat Denver and won the SB last year.

Receivers/TEs = unable to catch several good passes and/or drop the balls.

Don't let me start with special team.

The only player that was up to the standard was Rice IMO. Don't get me wrong, Ravens was decent, kept it close until half time and the bottom fell out after that.

If Denver was playing as they did last year (except the last 1:31), the game would be over by 3rd quarter.

Jesus. Im happy but im gonna get my ass kicked in my main fantasy league this week. Completely butt raped

Flaccccccco - the most overpaid QB in the history of the NFL. Well, except for that fat ass from the Raiders years back.

That tide commercial just pwned more than Fluko has in this game.

Fluko? Your rental QB has the same amount of playoff wins, super bowl rings, and super bowl MVPs as Joe Flacco. Congrats on your regular season win against the Ravens, since that's the only time the Broncos can actually beat them.

Actually Flacco was looking pretty good until they were down by 20+ points and he had no choice but to force some throws.

Edit: wow, just read the rest of your post, you really don't know what you're talking about. Dickson played just like he did last year, tons of talent but way too many drops. The special teams turnover from last year was huge. LaQuan Williams, Anthony Allen, and David Reed were some of their best special teamers last year, and they're not on the team. JJ was hurt early in the game.

Amazing game from Peyton. 7 TDs. 7 TDs. SEVEN!

Ravens look awful at times during the regular season every year. No Boldin, no Pitta, who's Flacco gonna throw to this year? Gotta have more than one WR. Why is Flacco throwing 62 times and Ray Rice only getting 12 rushes?

I don't like the idea of Welker returning punts. Not because of the horrible muff (chuckle), but just because you need him healthy for the season.

He's beat Brady in the playoffs three of the last four years.
What the hell does that have to do with Flako being overpaid? If you want to bring Brady into this discussion, I can guarantee you that nobody with a functioning brain will pick Flako over Brady for anything, ever.

I don't know what I am talking about? Really? So second half (especially the third quarter and part of fourth )was fine and dandy, I just made sh1t up? Denver made stupid mistakes too but Peyton was much better than Flacco (two of the left over from last year) tonight. I am not going to sit here and call Ravens players with names but they did not play up to a typical pro team caliber after half time.

it has to do with the list of teams willing to pay him that is much longer than the ones that wouldn't.

This was just a game that got away from one team. Happens all the time.

But having to open in the altitude of Denver is a complete shitter, and you can tell the Ravens hit a wall.

I don't know about the Broncos, but Manning has owned the Ravens his entire career. I think the playoff loss last year was Manning's first loss to the Ravens in something like the last 9 tries. If anything, the Ravens beating Manning last year was the real fluke.

I'm still torn on Flacco. I've generally always liked him but I'm still not sure he is an elite QB, though he is definitely on the borderline. Regardless, I like the Ravens because they seem to stick it to the Patriots in the playoffs. 🙂

Quit watching after the first quarter. The nfl is nothing more than an advertisement vehicle with football thrown in periodically. What a joke.
I think commercial time was 3 to 1 to the football.

Two best teams in the AFC showing why the AFC is a joke of a conference. Looked like Keystone Cops out there last night.

i stopped watching football years ago because of this. Average of 11 min of football in a 4 hour window

i just turn on the red zone channel in the background as white noise now

i actually enjoy watching Golf more, ta least the Majors

Both teams looked rough. With the limited amount of practice in pads and the limited time the regulars get in preseason the first game is going to be rough for most teams.

Glad I fell asleep for the 2nd half 🙂

Why didn't Hairball throw a red flag for that Denver drop? That seemed to be when the game went to shit for them.

First games are always ugly but this turned out very bad for the Ravens. On the news this morning I heard "The worst first week defeat of a defending Superbowl champ in HISTORY!"
