I think we just found our almost "dream" house :)

We are in the process of selling our house and about to buy a new home. The market is crazy here in San Diego.
We just put in a bid for this house for 625k. It's in a new community with new schools which was very important to my wife and I. Hopefully everything will go through okay.

Link to hopefully new home.

The house is almost 3,000 sq ft.

$625,000... jesus. I hope this college thing pays off, because I can barely afford my $15,000 car.

Wow MuffD. Congrats. I am in the process of getting my first home right now but unfortunately it won't be anything even remotely that expensive or spectacular. Hell, it beats apartment life though. The kids are excited.

If it's not too invasive, what is it that you do?

I was very lucky. If I told you what my degree was and what I did you would probably laugh. Definitely finish school though. Big tip too, no matter how much you make, if your credit is not good, you won't be able to buy anything. Thank goodness we have good credit because this opens up a whole bunch of different loan options for us.
My sister in law bought a house in the same area for 750,000.00 but she was able to lock in at a interest rate of 5% fixed for 30 yrs making her payment a little over 2,100 granted she was able to put down 20% for her down payment.

Wow. Expensive. What 'plan' is it? [edit]nevermind, it's plan 3[/edit] That first one is nice, but, I don't like the split garage layout or the closet in the master bathroom. But that's a preference thing and not a drawback. Plan 3 has the closets before the bathroom.

Dayum!! 20% of 750,000 is what I paid for my new house! hahahaha!

I always see these obscenely priced houses and wonder who are the people who can afford them. May I ask what you do for a living. And congrats! Hope you get it.
