I do not browse personals (in fact I have my engagement thread up somewhere) and I don't think there is a problem with it.

Some people just don't have the crowd to go to. While I never had that problem, I can certainly understand.

There's no real hookups on craigslist anymore. It's all spam bots if you try contacting them. I replied to about 40 in the boston area a couple weeks back, 90% responded with canned replies about visiting their website.
