LOL I understand that's what threads are for but you know what I mean it just makes me tick, it's like going to SFF / Notebook and finding most threads about T-series Thinkpads, I love T-series Thinkpads, but damn it I don't want every discussion there to be about them, get the idea ;)

I'm with ya, but give it time. The P-180 is just "this years model blond",

as Elvis Costello once sang about. Fanboys drive the market, don'tcha know :-D

Just wait, with all the PSU extensinions they have to use, the majic smoke will come out.

no, I don't. if people have a question regaurding it or anything to do with it, they post. the P180 is popular right now, same with the T series laptops. therefore there will be threads on them, more then normal.... now, do you get the idea?

It's a fad, and it will change. Just how Raptors were in the GH section, and now it seems dissing RAID 0 is the fad there. It all goes in cycles. I just like to sit back and enjoy it. I just still can't believe how small that case is when I actually seen one in person at AlTex while I was picking up some heat shrink...

Is it classified as a full tower or a mid-tower? I just always thought it was much taller... That is all. ;)

No no...it's a "Super Mid-tower". [cue "ooh"ing and "aah"ing]. ;)

When the M6805 laptop came out last year, people were going ga-ga over it because it was relatively cheap for the amount of gaming power you got out of it. It had a lower resolution screen, half a gig less memory, and 64 instead of 128mb of memory compared to the exact same laptop, literally, from Voodoo and Alienware which caused $1000 more. They were all made by Arima, same model with a few minor tweaks by each company (screen, memory included, amount of VRAM, hard drive, etc). E-machines mostly had 4200rpm drives, but lucky people got a 5400rpm drive. Took about a year to die down.

... Yes, I bought one. And lucked out and got the 5400rpm drive :)

When I mentioned the T-series Thinkpads I didn't do that because I thought it was a correct analogy, it was just to show something that I like, I mean come on the T-series is something legendary with years and years of production line fame it isn't a fad like the P180 ( that isn't lasting much on the production line anyhow) , so I don't think it was fair from you to say that about the T-series, the T-series is or was ( now part of Lenovo) IBM's center of attention all the sweet features over time went to it, get your hands on a brand new top of the line T-series and compare it with any other laptop you want, you will find your self amazed. the P180 is just the deal of the today nothing else.

I was okay with the conversation up to that point. Sorry, but that ^ just seemed fanboish as hell...

There are TOO MANY P180 THREADS!!!!

Lets create 1 more! :D

I agree. I dont see much special with the outside of a case, the insides are quite nice but nowhere near worth the amount of money imo.

Ill stick with my SLK3000B tyvm.

QFT. Much smaller than I was expecting, and I could never get over that plastic front and hinges. Who in the world designs a "good" case like that? That's insane. Even if you don't open and close your case alot, there is no need for that... IMO.

But.. but.. if we move all the P180 threads to a new section just for us P180 owners, how can we convert all you non-P180 users to our way of thinking (which is obviously the correct way) since we've been shuffled off to a corner like the red headed stepchild?!?! ;)

What, we are all being converted to use P-180s? Ugh, that sucks. I'm going to need like two or three of them to convert my machine. Maybe just two... Screw that. How about if my machine just eats one? Would that make you happy?

I like my door on my SLK3000B. At first, I found it an annoyance but it certainly cuts down on Optical Drive noice but can also be a problem with vibration.

Even though the internals of the P180 are top notch 10/10 in my eyes, I cant justify going from probably an 8.5/10 to a 10/10 considering the price.

2 x 120x38 fan slots (1 in front of a removable 5 hdd bay), 4 5.25" bays, 2 front usb ports, 80mm side duct.... Antecs build quality... The SLK3000B is just perfect for those wanting a good case whilst not spending too much from a tight budget (where a P180 may compromise on performance parts-wise)

P180 in short (to me)
Internals - Excellent. Fans, storage, placement... it has everything I can think of, probably some that I cant and missing some features that may be useful.

Externals - Its a case. Doesnt look appealing, looks a bit cheap and nasty.

Price - Too much for me although reduce the price, give me a decent External look and it may become very viable.

Not saying its bad. Just explaining why its not for me.
