I think that ReactOS is the next windows.

It can run Windows applications natively, with some help of Wine Technologies. It's open source, doesn't have all the viruses, no BSOD and its Unix based.:D

Now I'm not trying to bash Windows, I'm just saying Microsoft really needs to step up their game.

As a project, ReactOS is awesome. But a replacement for Windows? No.

It won't be til version 0.5.0 that the OS will even be potentially usable. (it is at 0.3.16 right now and has been at 0.3x for several years).

Right now they have no support for windows drivers. No support for basic devices, and partial support for running windows apps.

I'm not saying it can't evolve to be a good alternative to windows, I'm just saying that it is a ways away.

Hello!

I am member of ReactOS development team.

ReactOS does support windows drivers and basic devices. If you have problems with any particular driver or device please feel free to let us know via bug-report at jira.reactos.org (reactos.org registration is required)

No bugreport = no problem. I hope, you understand this.

Depends on what you consider a replacement. If you run GNU/Linux, but have one program that can't be beaten into shape with Wine, but ReactOS runs it, then it's a perfect replacement. If you expect to run everything the latest Windows runs, you're SOL.
