my son is definately one of the gifted and talented. im just wondering if there are lots of 3 year olds that know how to navigate through winxp, use aim, plays games on his ps2, gc, and gba daily, also read books to his cousins that are 4 and 5 years old respectively. whats a normal 3 yr old supposed to be doing?

Someone's got a prodigy 🙂 Keep it going 🙂 Its time he learned how to build his own rig... Intel of course 😉

yeah he can read/write/type at 3. being a young single dad i was really worried i wasnt doing the right stuff so i read to him at an early age. he knew how to count and the alphabet when he was one and a half.

he likes AIM because he uses it to talk to his mom.

i should mention that i didnt teach him how to play and use the controls. for me i just buy the games and let him mash buttons if he likes. clearly im completely underestimating his abilities.

its also a lot of fun to watch him totally kick ass in soulcaliber2 and gunbound.

yeah that was the ultimate kicker for me. he beat my 13 yr old sister at his first try at gunbound. she's a double axe too. 😀

parenthood rules.

funny thing is your kid probably is more understandable on aim than a lot of teenagers:

your kid: hi mommy how are you

teen: OMg MILF!!! wass U doING rit NOW?

😀
sounds like you're doing a great job as a dad, keep it up

Congratulatons, djplayx714. 🙂 You must be very proud of your son. Teaching my son to read was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. I can't believe your son reads and writes (types) at 3 years old!! That's so cool. Best of luck in the future. You are a good father. 🙂

Bwahaha so true. And great kid you got there!

I knew how to run games from dos when I was 2 or 3. Of course I just had the steps memorized but that was the beginning.....

just imagine. In 20 years he'll be 23 and plaing Metroid Prime version whatever is out at the time. and you'll be posting the exact opposite thing here.

TEACH HIM PIANO!!!

seriously, you need to start your kid on a musical instrument, the sooner the better(it will blow his mind). also start on spanish or french or somethin close to english as soon as you can(as soon as he has a firmer grasp on english). him knowing how to type to his mom at 3 is amazing.

but ya seriously, make sure he gets into music, if he can already understand language this well, especially this early in life, he should do good in the music world. and studieds have found that people who know more then one language are in general faster thinkers at everything. and i would really start him on piano and not another instrument because you get the widest range of keys in front him with a more direct approach then other musical instruments(not to mention how many girls hes gonna impress later if he gets good)

Yup, that way by the time he's 5 he can grow up to AMD.

😀
