I think my smoke detector is going nuts

Argo

Lifer
It keeps beeping for the past 12 hours. I checked the manual, and it says that means a small amount of combustion particles was detected in the air. Now, I have an electric stove, so possibility of a gas leak can be ruled out. I haven't been cooking today either, so there are no vapors or anything. The air looks ok, and I can't smell anything. This is bugging me!

P.S. I got the alarm a few weeks ago, so I don't think it went bad or anything.

Is it beeping as in going off, or is it just chirping once in a while? If it's chirping it needs new batteries. If it's going off, something is wrong with it.

The battery could be bad. My smoke detector beeps continuously if the battery is low. Did you install a new battery?

I used the battery that came with it, and it doesn't have sensitivity knob. It looks like it has shut up now. We'll see.

One of mine keeps chirping :frown: It is wired into the house electric, and the backup batteries check out as good, I think it has gone bad.
