some of these replies are just ridiculous. if, instead, the OP had stated that his dog ran away, i wonder what the responses would have been..... he's obviously done this in the past and hasn't had problems. in any case, the neighbor is horrible if he's trying to poison animals. I really hope you find your dog and everything works out. next time, be more careful. with an as$hole neighbor like that, i would never let my dog free again.

An open network and you are asking us for permission?

WTF... ANYWHERE I AM, if there is an open network, I scour that sucker like a buzzard! I already would have been through all his stuff... 😀

Ok, I don't mean to be an asshole. And I do sincerely hope you find you dog...but...

Yeah. You let your dog out. It could have been hit by a car miles from your house, or the fvcking dog catcher could have picked it up or something. You DON'T know what happened to it. That guy could have been putting sugar water out for humming birds or something, assuming that story from the old lady isn't total bullsh|t.

I love how you just assume that because some gossipy old lady makes some sh|t up about a guy who keeps to himself, that it MUST be true.

Who knows, maybe that guy is a crazy animal killer...or maybe that old lady poisoned your dog and she's trying to shift the blame elsewhere. Its a motherfvcking conspiracy.

wtf... lots of anii in this thread ... i guess lots of people are AFRAID OF DOGS!!!

anyways... that sux but i agree with the people saying DO soemthing about it instead of sitting on ur ass in front of a comp. what is that gonna accomplish ? u think ehs gonna have his evil pet poisoning plans on his comp or something? you wont find anything useful there.. youre better off confronting him directly. anyway if i had a pet potentially kidnapped by a neighbour i wouldnt hesitate to confront them.

i have a dog, i'm not afraid. i do know what dogs can do though. last year a kid in the bay area had his face/body ripped up by a lose dog, life forever ruined even though he lives thanks to many and continueing reconstructive surgery. there are maulings everywhere. loose dogs also get run over all the time.

He didn't just state his dog ran away, the thread title is "I think my neighbor poisoned my dog..." The meat of the post that provided 'strong evidence' was second hand info from an old woman who found a piece of meat, and some who he thinks thinks she saw him pour some water into a dish along time ago. Well, rig him up to the electric chair! He's as good as convicted!

How would you feel if you were the neighbor, and your neighbor came over screaming about you poisoning his dog when all you did was put some water out for birds to take a bath in. Do you believe everything you hear?

He can go scream at the neighbor if he wants, but if he DID poison his dog, he will deny it. And if he DIDN'T poison his dog his neighbor will hate him for being a conclusion jumping gossipy fvck.

Hey

i'm sure that drumminboy learned his lesson - -no need to criticize him for his past choices. i bet he's full of regret and pissed at himself arleady.

we can't change what he did.

but we CAN help him and give him advice on what he can do about this situation.

there are so many holier-than-thou posters in this thread. everyone makes mistakes. drumminboy's mistake cost him his dog. 🙁

so let's try and be constructive and help him out, instead of criticizing him.

Good luck drumminboy. Maybe you should talk to the law enforcement.

What kind of fool lets their dog loose in a neighborhood at night. I mean....that's a public danger.
We live in a quiet neighborhood in a smaller town in Iowa...loose dogs are pretty common. We let her go all the time, she usually just wanders around a bit, and we find her sleeping on the porch in the morning. she was on a chain outside, so we liked to let her go an strech her legs every once and awhile.

As someone else has already pointed out you are an irresponsible dog owner. Your dogs death (if true) is no one's fault but your own.

Bull$hit, Get law enforcement involved and also animal rights activists. Killing an innocent animal is an atrocious thing in my book.

forget it. you guys have opened my eyes. We let my dog loose, she obviously deserved to get poisoned. What was I thinking?
My great grandmother's dog was fed a glass sandwich by her neighbors. She couldn't prove it was them other than them laughing to her about it when she accused them.

If your neighbor didn't like it, he should at least have had the decency to tell you not to let your dog roam. People bring their annoying kids with them to the supermarket, but I can't just shoot them if I get annoyed.

And to think, all this could have been avoided if you took the time to tie up your dog.

Such a simple thing.

Geeze, this is a good example of the decline of the neighborhood and I am not talking about this guys dog. My dog pretty much had free roam of the my neighborhood and it was a pretty suburban place. She would walk us kids to the bus stop every morning and would be waiting on the driveway when I got home. But of course I knew everyone in my neighborhood and they all new my dog. In fact my dog stopped a burglary of both my house and one of my neighbors.

Damn I miss that dog.. :frown:

I don't think it's the decline of the neighborhood; I think people are just tired of putting up with irresponsible pet owners. Owners that take their pets out to sh!t on anyone else's lawn but their own; owners that let their pets roam free to sh!t, rummage through garbage, annoy, threaten and bite children; owners that don't train their pets and care for them properly.

I hate cats, they can all die for all I care, but I love dogs. Dogs are trainable and there's no excuse for letting your dog be a neighborhood nuisance. I know a guy who lets his dog run loose, but he trained his dog never to leave the property without him. That dog goes all over the property, will sit right at the property line, but will never cross the line unless he's with his master. Just letting a dog roam the neighborhood is a nuisance to your neighbors and not very neighborly at all.

I agree, if a dog approaches me in the night I'll kick it in the face. I don't go for that schiat. Your dog shouldn't be out unless you're out with it.

Now if its a weinerdog etc... that's fine.
